Firmwide Operations
Firmwide Operations includes Shared Services and Banking Operations (SSBO), Operations Risk and Control, Global Project Group and Metrics, Branch Operations and Divisional Management. Shared Service and Banking Operations delivers industry leading operational solutions by aligning the right functions, people, processes and tools into ten core disciplines offering tailored client service levels that are efficient, controlled and compliant with regulation. Our core disciplines include: Asset Servicing, Cash Management, Client Data Management, Global Banking Services, Loans Servicing, Network Management, Payments (Wireless and Disbursements), Reconciliations, Settlements and Tax Operations. Operations Risk and Control ensure adequate controls are in place, through providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.
We are looking for a proven leader to manage our Security Settlements Production Team based in Baltimore. This individual would be the Vice President of Security Settlements in Baltimore and report directly into the Americas head. The scope of role is directly managing a team of 30 on-shore full time employees based in Baltimore as well as 15 additional vendor staff located offshore in Guadalajara and Mumbai.
The core responsibility of Security Settlements is the clearance and settlement of Fixed Income and Equity Securities with North American and Latin American markets. The team delivers on daily functions in support of the IED, FID, BRM and Prime Brokerage business units and carries significant regulatory risk in the form of daily failed trades, customer and desk Buy-Ins, Customer Asset Protection and RegSHO compliance. The settlements Vice President will be responsible for all daily activities in support of these markets and business units in addition to partnering to drive the strategic agenda for the department, focusing on career development of staff at all levels and mitigating all forms of financial, reputation and regulatory risk. Lastly this individual will be responsible for facing off with compliance, operations risk and regulatory control and external regulatory bodies in the US on rules and regulations surrounding US markets and the settlement of Fixed Income and Equity Securities.
Qualifications
• 5-10 years of management experience, ideally in a large team setting, with a focus on career development and process improvement. Settlements knowledge and or related Fixed Income or Equity Securities knowledge a plus.
• Experience in business process re-engineering. LEAN or project management skills are a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to problem solve
• Experience managing a diverse network of stakeholders including operations, compliance, technology and various Business Units
• Risk management background with an understand of impacts to financial, regulatory and reputational risk
• Must be a culture carrier. Interpersonal and career development and management skills are a must.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and bring issues to resolution
