Department Overview
The Office of the COO and Head of Risk for Private Investments works closely with professionals across Investment Management’s private investing businesses and control and support areas to develop and implement key business initiatives related to strategy, new product development, risk and finance.
Key Responsibilities
The Office of the COO and Head of Risk for Private Investments is looking for a thoughtful and solutions-oriented Vice President to support the business in several areas, including:
• Business Initiatives: Work closely with the COO and Head of Risk for Private Investments and take a leadership role in driving various key strategic initiatives with respect to the private investing platform
• Risk Management: Help to manage risk for the private investing businesses within Investment Management
• Regulatory Interactions: Coordinate regular discussions with and examinations by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and other regulators
• Governance: Drive processes and initiatives for Investment Management committees and working groups
• Strategic Analysis: Develop strategic, financial and operational presentations for divisional and Firm senior management
• Reporting: Manage ongoing reporting requirements to ensure reports are delivered accurately and in a timely manner
• Team Management: Oversee a team of Analysts and Associates
Qualifications
Required Skills:
• 7+ years’ experience in risk management, financial industry and/or business management. Knowledge related to risk management and Investment Management strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills with ability to tailor message to audience
• Proven ability to work across departments to influence others at senior levels and build strong relationships
• Demonstrated leadership in setting strategy and driving an agenda
• Strong people and process management skills
• Ability to delegate effectively and management delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives
• Ability to work independently and possess a strong sense of accountability/ownership
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
