What is the opportunity?
The Director, Application Portfolio Management leverages the momentum of the Application Portfolio Optimization T&O Transformation program, leads and oversees the building and running of the Application Portfolio Management practice to sustain portfolio health enabling reduction of the bank’s overall footprint & complexity, while increasing the value of the technology assets to the business. This new architectural service within Enterprise Architecture contributes to T&O Strategic priority by driving Operational Excellence.
What will you do?
• Create an Application Portfolio Management (APM) Practice
• Develop the vision, fiscal strategy and high level scope for the APM Practice.
• Develop a baseline measure that outlines quantitative and qualitative measures of the application portfolio
• Seeks out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches/solutions
• Leverage the TOM to implement the framework and environment for the core APM services of Assess, Optimize, Govern
• Deliver fiscal scope against the core APM capabilities: analytics, reporting, governance, knowledge management, policy & standards management as well as exception management applying Engineering Mindset and Design Thinking to the approach
• Plans for concurrent initiatives across the capabilities to deliver accelerated outcomes & value
• Evolve data, tools and organizational skills progressively towards target state
• Provide 360o application portfolio insight to align T&O Portfolio Optimization strategy with Business Strategy
• Works across Lines of Business and T&O groups to implement portfolio optimizations that reshape the business application portfolio to reduce complexity and redundancy
• Understanding of Business and Technology Strategies and industry trends
• Creation of target state architecture (Conceptual and Logical) utilizing items above
• Providing business case + solutions to achieve target state and gathering support of business and IT stakeholder in implementing proposed solutions
What do you need to succeed?
• Demonstrated Leadership ability with experience with Transformational initiatives.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with diverse business and technology groups
• 8+ years of program management experience in managing high complexity program
• Experience with charting new ground with considerable ambiguity
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in application life cycle and application portfolio management
• Able to deliver value outcomes to diverse stakeholders
• Experience with Data Analytics that drives insight and transforms potential into action through reporting and governance
• Knowledge of development methodologies and industry technology trends
