Relationship Director Captives
As a Barclays Relationship Director you will build and acquire highly proactive, long-term, internal and external business relationships to grow and develop a portfolio of Captive clients to generate sustained long term income. You will engage with the clients senior management team and obtain an in depth understanding of their strategic business needs and issues and overtime being seen as a ‘Go To’ by potential clients.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from the across the Barclays Group, whilst adhering to regulatory requirements and compliance policies to avoid exposing the business to undue risk. Your ultimate aim will be to build and maintain a portfolio of clients, deliver exceptional sales & business performance whilst maintaining sound risk management.

As a Relationship Director, your main responsibilities will involve:
• Identifying, developing and securing new relationships with a range of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management and Barclays Group partners across the target jurisdictions or geographies, as part of the new client acquisition strategy across booking platforms ensuring client satisfaction
• Leading initiatives with external business introducers, trade associations, solicitors and accountants and increasing the portfolio value of key Captive clients
• Identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs, including banking, investments, foreign exchange and wealth structuring and providing regular contact with them
• Being committed to ensuring that clients have access to the best possible service that Barclays can offer and developing relationships with other parts of the bank and having joint responsibility with internal colleagues for the end-to-end client experience.
• Ensuring that standards, both legal and regulatory, are constantly adhered to in order to avoid exposing the business to risk and maintaining sound risk management to prevent emerging risks
• Supervising a small number of Account Executives on a day-to-day basis, although there will be no direct line management responsibility for these members of staff
As a Relationship Director, your skills and qualifications will include:
• Financial services and Banking experience is essential and a thorough understanding and appreciation of the need to operate to high risk and regulatory standards particularly in their target markets
• Excellent profit orientation and business awareness experience with a client focus, with the ability to build responsibilities and exert commercial negotiation and influencing skills in a culturally diverse international market
• Demonstration of strong knowledge of global economics and political conditions, current affairs and competitor activity and the implication of these will be necessary for benefit of our clients
• Demonstrating a depth of commercial understanding of the businesses they have supported in the past, coupled with an appetite to build a deep appreciation of the corporate and intermediary banking sector
•Having suitable industry qualifications and a knowledge of the standards expected by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and a detailed understanding of various policies adopted by Barclays Wealth
•Being action oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement in all areas of, with an ability to deliver quality results with a challenging but positive and influential style
