Description
Barclays Bank PLC seeks an Assistant Vice President, FX Forwards for its New York, NY location.
Duties:
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analyses of sales, trading, and public information affecting investment programs in FX Forwards and Fixed Income, identifying price movement patterns and relationships. Collect, analyze, research and monitor financial and economic data, as well as data on the overall financial industry and direction of market trends, with ongoing coverage of Asian currencies. Analyze risk of market-making book from client flows using appropriate financial instruments. Research and analyze price fluctuations and securities to provide accurate analysis while assessing trade risk, and determine buying and selling prices for APAC currencies. Use statistics to process financial market data to uncover price movement patterns and research correlations between markets. Contact and interact with brokers to source and offer liquidity for currency products. Collaborate with Sales partners to assist clients with hedging requirements, update clients with relevant market information and explanations of market movements, and recommend strategies for clients. Provide analytical support for pricing, buying, and selling financial instruments, and preparing bid and recommend offer prices to clients and counterparties. Build, operate, and maintain pricing and financial models (based on Excel and VBA programming). Use interest rates derivatives for risk hedging analysis and assess yield curve for pricing FX Forwards. Prepare plans of action, charts, reports, and spreadsheets for pricing and market-making FX Forwards and Cross Currency Basis products using Excel/VBA. Monitor and forecast macroeconomic and geopolitical trends and developments to understand evolution of financial markets; with a particular focus on economic data, Central Banks and yield curves.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or related quantitative field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered, or conducting quantitative research and analyses in FX Forwards for financial services. Will accept Master’s degree in specified fields, and 2 years of experience in the specified role as alternative. Demonstrated experience must include: Analyzing risk of market-making book from client flows; Using statistics to process financial market data to uncover price movement patterns and research correlations between markets; Using interest rates derivatives for risk hedging analysis and assess yield curve for pricing FX Forwards; Preparing spreadsheets for pricing and market-making FX Forwards and Cross Currency Basis products using Excel/VBA; Forecasting macroeconomic and geopolitical trends and developments.
