What is the opportunity?
You would be responsible for providing Cyber and IT Risk Management subject matter expertise to the first line of defense operating teams within Global Functions business line that include groups such as office of CAO/CFO, Group Risk Management, and Human Resources. Responsible for enterprise governance activities including oversight and challenge of the first line of defense execution groups within the business platform, assisting in setting and maintaining policy that aligns with the business framework, facilitating risk appetite development, providing IT Risk performance management and reporting governance, and continuously developing a risk aware culture within the supported business platforms.
What will you do?
• Provide technical and best practice guidance on Cyber and IT Risk to the business and IT taking into account specific business platform and regional complexities and issues
• Perform, in collaboration with other groups, thematic reviews and Cyber and IT Risk assessments including deep dive assessments, scenario analysis, third party, and new product or change initiative assessments.
• Provide expert advisory on RBC’s IT Risk framework, policies, standards and guidelines to a complex level and contribute to their development where appropriate
• Develop and maintain key business relationships in order to provide advice and oversight on new initiatives
• Give input into the setting of risk appetite based on platform specific differences and specific considerations
• Review cyber security and control processes along with associated documentation and reporting
• Review key audit, regulatory and client due diligence to develop and communicate risk themes and solutions to them
• Communicate and lead the integration of new business partners into RBC’s Cyber and IT Risk Management processes and reporting requirements
• Promote a risk aware culture and communicates best practices to business and IT contacts
• Leverage information on current cyber threats to focus business and IT attention on emerging risk themes and issues
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
• 10 years experience developing, and supporting Information Technology
• 5 years in the financial services or other regulated industries
• 5 years experience in development and implementation of Cyber and IT Risk Frameworks
• Strong metrics and performance management background including data management and analysis
• 3-5 years in a delivery organization
Nice-to-have
• Experience in working within a larger financial services company
• Knowledge of Project Management (PMF) process/disciplines
• CRISC or other Information Security Certifications
