Job Summary:
For more than 90 years, TIAA-CREF has been helping those in the academic, medical, cultural and research fields plan for and live in retirement. Job Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility of maintaining and enhancing the delivery of high quality individual consulting services to individual customers and prospects of assigned institutions within a region through the management of a team of Individual Consultants.
• Ensures the delivery of high quality services to individual customers for all TIAA products and services, including insurance products and services.
• Provides appropriate coaching and training to consultants to enhance their effectiveness ensuring continued high level of service and resolution of customer issues.
• Implements appropriate strategies to increase market share.
• Serves as registered principal for all direct reports and performs supervisory functions for compliance with NASD and Insurance Department rules and regulations.
• Executes and manages own account relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• NASD Series 7, 63 and 24 registrations or ability to obtain within 90 days
• CFP, ChFC designations
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a financial planning and customer service environment, including sales management experience or the demonstrated capability for leading and motivating staff.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial planning concepts and strong familiarity with retirement plan design including the legislative and regulatory environments.
• Resident state insurance license, and non-resident licenses for all states in which the Director will supervise the sale of insurance products, within 6 months of assuming the position.
• Valid US Driver’s License and ability to travel approximately 40%.

• Effective interpersonal, consulting and sales skills
• Superior communication skills with sound analytical, judgment and discretion with the ability resolve conflicts.
