Job Description (Please be specific with project information):
The Insurance Risk Manager will focus on helping clients achieve their goals through insurance solutions by improving the efficiency of critical business processes and platforms. Reporting to the Head of Insurance Solutions, the Risk Manager will support the growth of the life insurance business through the implementation of strategic business and risk management initiatives. The Risk Manager will also play an integral role in strengthening the insurance platform, maintaining day-to-day operations and driving initiatives with a wide array of insurance companies, sales agents and support vendors.
Responsibilities include:
• Working with business partners (legal, compliance, risk) to strengthen the insurance platform through the development of new products and enhanced controls
• Becoming an expert on Morgan Stanley’s insurance systems and work closely with general agencies and insurance carriers to improve business processes
• Serving as a central point of contact for business critical inquiries including commissions, licensing and operational issues
• Collaborating with insurance general agencies, carriers and operations to solve time-sensitive business needs
• Reviewing and resolving insurance related sales and product issues arising in the field
• Maintaining and supporting updates to the insurance information to the MS intranet site 3DR
Qualifications
Required Skills:
• 6+ years’ experience in financial services related field (preferably insurance)
• Strong analytic, project management and marketing experience
• Strong work ethic and interest in supporting the growth of the life insurance business
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
• Series 7, 63
• Life & Health insurance licenses (not required)
