Department Profile
The cornerstone of Morgan Stanley's risk management philosophy is the execution of risk-adjusted returns through prudent risk-taking that protects Morgan Stanley's capital base, liquidity and franchise. The EMEA Risk Management Division is responsible for the independent identification, analysis, reporting and escalation of all market, credit and operational risk exposures arising from UK Group business activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process. Within the EMEA Risk Management Division, the recently established EMEA Risk Infrastructure Department brings together Change Management, Middle Office and Reporting functions.
Position Description
A project manager is required to lead the delivery of strategic initiatives for the Credit Risk Department. The role encompasses projects including methodology and regulatory framework together with data and wider business enhancements.
Primary Responsibilities
The role-holder is responsible for the following:
• Project management of strategic initiatives for the Credit Risk Department including regulatory and methodology driven work.
• Enforcement of strong project management discipline.
• Senior stakeholder management including escalating and resolving issues as necessary.
• Project execution, including developing project plans and tracking delivery.
• Documentation of business requirements in partnership with clients.
Qualifications
Skills Required
• Strong background in credit risk projects in a CRR and IMM regulatory context.
• Good understanding of key credit risk concepts.
• Expert in project management discipline and techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical capability with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including Front Office and Technology at all levels of seniority.
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in a Finance related discipline.
• PRINCE2 Practitioner would be ideal.
• Credit risk background either in coverage, reporting or analysis role.
• Good understanding of Credit Risk regulation and methodologies.
