What is the opportunity?
Responsible for managing a group of two with responsibility for: Compliance with SEC and CFTC rules. Primarily SEC Rule 15c3-1, FOCUS Reporting, Federal Reserve Reporting; FR 2004 A, B, C, SI & WI, TIC Reporting and CFTC Seg, Secured and Swap Reporting for RBC Capital Markets LLC (CM LLC)
What will you do?
• Develop, enhance and maintain the regulatory control framework for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting functions
• Learn, supervise and take ownership of the various daily and weekly processes such as: Daily Net Capital computation, CFTC Seg, Secured and Swap reporting, and various FRB Reports – TIC and FR 2004. Expected to know and take ownership of the process, and be able to research or assist management with researching any issues.
• Very strong understanding and competency of the SEC Net Capital Rule 15c3-1.
• Strong familiarity with 15c3-3 Customer and PAB Reserve Computation and ability to assist as needed.
• Own various aspects of the CM LLC FOCUS Report, i.e. Securities Haircuts, and other Capital Charges.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement and automation to reduce operational risks and enhance the control environment
• Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities and escalate operational risks and control deficiencies that you identify to your line manager.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Intellectual curiosity and strong professional desire to perform regulatory reporting
• Expert in Broker-dealer Regulatory Reporting (15c3-1 and 15c3-3).
• Strong Financial Accounting and Regulatory reporting skills.
• Significant experience in interpreting and implementing US broker dealer rules.
• Knowledge of SEC’s Financial Responsibility Rules for Broker-Dealers
• Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in Excel
• Strong knowledge of automated Haircut Applications (Risk Based Haircuts / Fixed income Haircuts)
• Excellent organizational skills needed to manage multiple and competing priorities
• Adaptable to ever-changing regulatory environment able to work independently
