Responsibilities:
The Senior Vice President will work closely with Oaktree's Special Situations investment professionals, portfolio company leadership teams, and professional service firms to drive performance improvement in Oaktree’s portfolio companies and to provide differentiated due diligence capabilities in new deals. This individual will have a blend of top tier management consulting experience coupled with operating experience as part of a leadership team of a mid-to-large sized enterprise. Cross-industry and cross-functional experience, strong analytic capabilities, and strong leadership skills are key desired attributes.
Responsibilities include:
• Support management teams to develop and implement "Take Control" activities and 100 Day Plans - including milestone-driven, detailed operating plans that focus on successfully integrating portfolio companies and driving performance improvement opportunities.
• Provide both strategic and tactical counsel to portfolio company leadership teams leveraging operations, strategy, and financial expertise.
• Assist management teams in driving cross-functional turnaround and performance improvement programs including activities such as, but not limited to, core process redesign, cost reduction, corporate strategy, supply chain optimization, sales/marketing effectiveness, M&A support (including post-merger integration), talent and incentive upgrades, and other performance improvements.
• Drive market-facing and operations diligence activities for potential new investments. Work with external advisors and deal teams to assess underlying markets, competitive landscapes, and target organization capabilities and strategies. In addition, as deals begin to take shape, this individual will need to cultivate strong relationships with management to engender support for and competitively position Oaktree as a preferred partner. Finally, this individual will be responsible for scoping and sizing potential post-deal operational improvements.
• Work with Oaktree investment professionals and other advisors to further develop and execute liquidity/exit plans for portfolio companies.
Qualifications:
• 10-15 years of business experience, including a combination of corporate operating experience and a minimum of 3-5 years of top-tier management consulting experience. Consulting expertise should be focused on cross-industry operational improvement / turnaround engagements coupled with a lesser number of pure "strategy" engagements.
• Analytic and business process orientation with the ability to dig into detailed financial and operating information and identify trends, process improvement opportunities and strategic implications.
• Strong board and C-level presentation construction and delivery capabilities, including a strong capability to synthesize and construct arguments.
• Domain expertise with industrial, consumer, healthcare, , technology/media, and/or business services companies.
• Broad cross-functional exposure. Doesn't need to be an "expert" in every function, but needs to know functional basics and when to bring in true experts.
• Intellectual horsepower combined with a strong, self-guided work ethic.
• Proven “influencing skills” and bedside manner that engenders trust and openness. Partnering mentality in working with management teams and investment professionals.
• Willingness to travel 50% or more.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and a MBA from a top-tier institution are required.
