CCAR is forming a new team that will provide line risk, control oversight and management information to Senior Management. The CCAR Control and Assurance is a key function that is responsible for working in partnership with all areas across the various CCAR functions to identify key control points and to ensure that the overall control environment is robust and aligned to the FRB's expectations. This includes but is not limited to ensuring operational/control risks are identified and mitigated in areas of people, processes and systems.
VP role will have staff management responsibilities reporting directly to the Head of CCAR Governance & Controls
• Lead the design and development of the risk and control framework for CCAR, with appropriate alignment to the Target Operating Model, and bank-wide standards.
• Identify key operating risks and material control issues; conduct independent risk reviews complementing other functions’ assessment.
• Provide quality assurance of the Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSA) in accordance with the RCSA policy.
• Coordinate the facilitation of control testing across CCAR processes (DET and OET) and ensure that testing is completed
• Review and challenge by conducting independent risk reviews to determine root cause(s), assess existing control design and operation, identify issues and monitor remedial actions that mitigate the risk of occurrence of future losses.
• Analyze all relevant sources like risk reports, audit reports, key risk indicator data to conclude on residual operational risks and trends.
• Identify CCAR’s KPI’s and KRI’s and develop control metric reporting
• Lead Ad-hoc assurance / deep-dive reviews with a risk based approach, covering hot topics and in response to high risk areas or important themes.
• Drive improved risk awareness and culture through targeted training and communications, leveraging existing materials and enhancing through limited investment as needed. Supplement with innovative ways to help risk and control understanding throughout the teams.
• Develop and cultivate strong relationships with senior members of other functions across the Bank (e.g. FA, IA, ORM, LCD) to ensure consistency, fit for purpose and to drive positive cultural change.
You Offer...
Qualifications
• A Degree or higher education in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Strong regulatory and control background in financial service
• Ability to operate at a strategic level while also being delivery focused
• Strong influencing skills and ability to make compelling business cases
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
• Prior exposure to Operational Risk methodologies and/or Control Assurance concepts is preferable but not required
