The pace of change within financial services is at an unprecedented level across the industry and from all jurisdictions. Much of this regulatory change impacts and will be sponsored and led by the Risk Division. Within CS, the Chief Risk Officer and his management team recently conducted a review to assess the Change capabilities required within Risk to deliver the challenging and extensive book of work over the next 3-5 years. Following this review, a number of key new program and project roles have been identified within the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Change organization.
A key function is that of the CRO Portfolio Management Office (PMO), which is responsible for the governance, oversight, best practices, reporting, strategic roadmap and communication activities across CRO Change.
A key role within the CRO Change Portfolio Management Office is the Delivery PMO. This role is responsible for managing the relationship between the PMO and the programs, focused on delivery information like plans, risks, budgets and changes. This maintains a strong communication channel between the CRO Change PMO, the program managers and PMOs, which further enables the PMO to provide portfolio analysis and targeted interventions where programs need support.
The CRO Change Delivery Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is responsible for establishing, developing and delivering on the following:
• Facilitate the forum for program/project PMO to engage with central portfolio office to improve support to the program/project definition, planning and delivery.
• Facilitate the business adoption of improvements to standards, process and tools.
• Act as the trusted advisor to the CRO Change PMO, keeping them informed of key challenges across the portfolio.
• Transition existing Delivery PMOs into a central team and create a PMO service to be used by programs in the CRO Change portfolio.
• Create a PMO service definition to be used to create a consistent, high quality PMO service.
• Manage supply and demand of PMOs across the CRO Change portfolio.
• Optimise the number of PMOs operating the service.
• Create a career proposition for permanent PMOs and ensure the team is aligned to resource and location strategies.
CRO Change Delivery PMO works with the key functions within the portfolio office such as Portfolio Analysis, Governance & Reporting, Communications and Standards & Process.
You Offer...
The candidate must have:
• An Investment Bank, Private Bank / Wealth Management or consultancy background, with a good understanding of portfolio management within the Financial Services industry.
• Proven portfolio definition and delivery track record or a track record of managing large scale PMOs within the Banking Industry and/or Financial Services.
• Deep understanding of PMO principles, processes and procedures.
• Experience of working at strategic as well as project/program delivery level, developing and implementing Change Management approaches in a complex organisation.
• Knowledge of the Regulatory landscape of the Investment Banking sector.
• Ability to review large data sets for completeness and quality, and compliance with established project standards.
• Ability to develop and present information at a senior governance forum, using data from across the portfolio, with analysis, presentation styles and recommendations appropriate to the audience.
• Self-motivated with a sense of ownership and accountability for tasks and people.
• Proven ability to communicate with all levels of management in a clear, concise manner.
• Excellent organisational, problem solving, leadership, written and verbal communication skills.

• Project, program and change management skills and proven successful front to back program delivery.
• Experience working with and reporting to senior stakeholders across financial and operational functions of the business.
• Knowledge of portfolio prioritization.
• Knowledge of full project lifecycle.
• Ability to produce clear, concise reporting.
• An aspiration to work within a risk organization.
Other skills and qualifications:
• 8+ years project management experience.
• University undergraduate degree.
• Project and/or Program Management certification e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, PMP.
