Overall purpose of role
BIA aims to provide independent, reliable, valued, insightful and timely assurance to the Board and Executive Management over the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control over current and evolving risks, in the context of the current and expected business environment.

Company
• Scope audit assignments including preparation of the planning documents
• Identify, assess & document risks and controls.
• Manage audit work to ensure that relevant risks and controls have been identified and appropriately assessed.
• Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls & document this understanding in the BIA audit toolkit.
• Update the audit team with progress and observations.
• Write high quality audit observations and audit reports (with input from audit team)
• Provide suggestions to management for actions to address control issues identified.
• Proactively take on additional tasks as requested by the Director/Managing Director.
• Constantly look for ways to improve the way we do things.
Conduct
• Take into account reputation of Barclays at all times, through positive interactions and following policy and process.
• Set an example and support fair and ethical behaviour in all colleagues.
Customer/Client
• Build strong relationships and mutual trust with all internal colleagues and external stakeholders (Regulators).

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
• Experience of leading others during audit assignments
• Ability to express technical information logically and concisely in a way that facilitates learning and development
• Experience in dealing with senior client management
Decision-making and Problem Solving
• Strong understanding of credit card lifecycle and associated risks and controls
• Practical understanding of the relevant regulatory environment
• Makes effective use of internal and external best practice information
• Displays willingness and initiative to learn and share knowledge about new products and markets
• Ability to work autonomously and creatively problem solve
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years Business Auditors experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Credit Card experience preferred
• Financial services experience
• Practical understanding of relevant regulatory environment
• Proven track record of high performance in previous roles to include senior stakeholder management
