The primary purpose of the role is to analyze, quantify, approve, monitor and mitigate credit exposure arising from policies written at Lexington Insurance Company achieving $-0- credit losses by carefully evaluating credit risk in various transactions and setting the appropriate amount of collateral, while staying cognizant of key industry and market factors that would impact both Lexington’s credit risk and/or collateral position.

Your deep and broad industry knowledge allows you to foresee external conditions that could potentially affect AIG’s future.
• Develop and adhere to prudent credit policy that mitigates credit risk while helping Lexington’s business units to meet their goals.
• Ensure timely review of credit transactions to effectively monitor credit risk/exposure.
• Develop and strengthen key working relationships within Lexington to facilitate best practices, customer service, timely resolutions, and credit viewpoints.
• Direct portfolio monitoring by insuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Review collateral positions monthly/quarterly to ensure adequacy of security held.
• Generate monthly/quarterly credit management reports.
• Coordinate with and direct Lex credit manager during completion of annual portfolio review, periodic audits, renewals of fronting transactions, etc.
• Review, edit and approve captive fronting transactions before submitting to AIG Credit.
• Provide credit analysis and advice to Lexington executives as needed for various projects or issues that may arise. Update Lex Credit Policy as needed to comply with changes at Lexington and AIG.
• Support and partner with AIG Chief Credit Officer on annual portfolio review, projects, audits, credit policy development.
• Execute special projects for AIG/Lexington Credit as well as Healthcare, Property, and Casualty divisions.
What we are looking for
• A minimum of 10 + years specializing in risk management, ideally with experience from a primary property and casualty (re)insurer or a consulting background if the requisite management and industry experience are evident.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of drivers of risk
• Strong knowledge of insurance industry
• Ability to effect change through use of influencing skills
• Knowledge P&C insurance
• Solid understanding of market, credit, insurance and operational risks and how they impact financial institutions
• Proven ability to maintain independent perspective and challenge management on risk-related decisions
• Experience managing expectations of multiple stakeholders
• CFA/MBA/FSA/FCIA or other quantitative risk designation with relevant insurance or banking industry experience preferred
