Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the Private Wealth Management business line within a region or a stand alone small-to-mid size bank division. Communicates a compelling and inspired vision and sense of core purpose across the bank divisions; ensures the Synovus Private Wealth Management strategic, operational and financial goals and objectives are executed at the local level; promotes synergy, effective and productive working relationships between cross-functional and cross-organizational work teams; ensures strategies, change initiatives, and competitive information are communicated in clear and compelling ways. Listens to, leverages, and promotes the diverse ideas, perspectives and contributions of others across the business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and direction for all Private Wealth Management functions and related business activities including, but not limited to, banking and lending services, personal trust and estate services, investment management, insurance services and financial planning within a specific division. Collaborates with local bank leadership to establish the 3-to-5-year strategic plan for the Private Wealth Management business, and leads the Private Wealth Management team to ensure cost effective, efficient and successful deployment of those plans.
• Thinks and acts strategically; develops operational and tactical strategies for the Private Wealth Management team that lead to the achievement of business priorities. Pursues initiatives, investments, and opportunities that fit with and support company strategies.
• Develops and deploys effective Private Wealth Management programs that increase the "wallet share" of existing customers; provides personal, customized service, identifies individual needs and proactively proposes solutions to meet those needs. Leads external business development activities through an active out-of-office calling program to acquire new Private Wealth Management relationships, to expand our share of the wallet with existing clients, and to open up new markets. Stays abreast of the status of major customer accounts; directly oversees or ensures there are processes in place to effectively resolve customer problems/complaints.
• Responsible for market growth goals across the division/region and managing to the team's scorecard. Responsible for the financial performance of the Private Wealth Management business; prepares, justifies, and administers budgets in accordance with company goals and strategies. Ensures expenses are accurately forecasted and modified in line with sales performance. Monitors the execution of expenditures against the operating plan and makes corrections when necessary. Accurately forecasts growth, costs, and business challenges.
• Inspires commitment across the division/region. Builds diverse, high-performing teams that accomplish organizational changes, goals, and priorities. Ensures strategies, change initiatives, and competitive information are communicated in clear and compelling ways. Listens to, leverages, and promotes the diverse ideas, perspectives, and contributions of others across the business. Serves as an advocate for proactive planning and continuous improvement; sets and communicates clear and aligned goals, monitors progress, and accepts accountability; ensures leaders in own organization do the same.

Mentors, guides, and sponsors the development of key talent.
• Consults with the HR Manager to develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning, and supporting associate efforts in these areas. Keeps HR informed about strategic business plan initiatives that require HR support.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
Minimum Experience:
• Eight (8) + years of job specific work experience, including one (1) year of management experience or two (2) years experience as a team lead, with demonstrated professional growth and achievement in an organization of comparable size, business diversity, scope and complexity
Certification(s):
• Series 7; Series 66 (or both Series 63 and 65) Licenses; Variable Annuity License; State Life, Accident and Sickness License -or- CFP, CFA, CIMA, CTFA or CHFC designation -or- obtain one of these designations within 12 months of assuming role.
• This position requires successful registration and issuance of a unique identification number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE ACT). Registration must be accomplished within an established timeframe after initial employment and includes a nationwide finger print check.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Demonstrated technical competence and advisory level understanding of the key planning issues affecting affluent and high net worth clients
• Extensive relationship management and business development experience and the ability to coach and mentor a team
• Experience leading multiple lines of business and support functions
• Ability to successfully manage relationships with senior executives, key stakeholders and customers
• Experience setting the strategic course for the business, implementing enterprise-wide initiatives utilizing change management best practices, and analysis of results relative to established objectives
• Profit/loss accountability in the financial services industry; accountability for financial reporting, compliance and government regulations
