Overview
SIG is growing its Philadelphia area Payroll team with the addition of a Payroll Specialist in our Bala Cynwyd headquarters. By joining our team, you will provide payroll services to our 1,600+ domestic employees including the preparation and processing of our semi-monthly payroll, explaining complex payroll information to employees, and investigating and resolving both day to day and project type problems and issues.
On our team, you will get to explore new ideas, learn new things, and help to create efficiencies and enhancements to our services. The everyday work will give you exposure to both multi-state and international payroll as we support our employees living and working across the US and around the world. You’ll work side by side with our Payroll team as well as with our colleagues in Accounting and Tax, IT, HR and Benefits teams, to support SIG’s businesses, and to improve the systems we use to execute payroll processes. You’ll also get to research simple and complex problems, and implement solutions that resolve issues and mitigate risk.
In this role, you will:
• Directly support a US based multi-state, semi-monthly payroll that services 1,600+ domestic employees including generating W2s and W2C’s
• Participate in the generation and processing of bonus, shadow and off-cycle payrolls throughout the year
• Audit and verify set up and maintenance of payroll and tax forms
• Directly participate in complex projects such as the evaluation, implementation and support of a new commuter transit program, the continued evolution of optimal record retention policies and ensuring payroll accuracy for all employees
• Support file generation, transfer and related troubleshooting for 401(k), FSA and other benefits plan feeds; actively work with third party vendors to resolve file related issues and ensure accurate disbursement of funds
What we're looking for
• Minimum of 3 years of multi-state payroll tax experience required
• Demonstrated knowledge of US federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations
• Prior experience supporting year-end processes, process improvements and process automation required
• Must demonstrate an advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong attention to detail and focus on 100% accuracy is essential
• Previous experience with UltiPro a plus
• Experience with tools used for reporting such as Cognos, Qlikview or Tableau (or a related tool) a plus
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) a plus (and if you aren’t certified but want to be, you’ll have that opportunity!)
