SUMMARY:
Requirements include generating SBA 7(a), SBA 504 and USDA loans for the SBA Group. This manager is responsible for originating and funding SBA and USDA loans nationwide in a specialized market. Additional responsibilities include assistance with lead generation including external marketing efforts and loan pipeline management for all team members. Production objectives are $15 million per team member depending on employment date and previous SBA experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Three to five years of calling experience within the financial services industry
• Demonstrated management experience preferred
• Thorough knowledge of SBA lending rules, regulations and practices
• Verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of Word and Excel
• Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Generates new business through prospecting, outside calling, networking and referrals. Develops and maintains a referral source database while developing calling skills in other team members.
• By year-end, achieves 100% of established annual production objective (APO) that will be determined at or near the beginning of every year. Achieves at least 20% of the established APO in the first calendar quarter; 25% in the second and third calendar quarters; and 30% in the fourth calendar quarter. The quarterly objectives are based on management's determination of the funding seasonally within the SBA industry.
• Recruits and retains team members for the specialized groups. Staffing levels are determined according to SBA unit annual production goals. BDO retention is a key objective to maintain consistent production levels.
• Tracks all team member’s year-to date- production based on the same seasonal percentages. Coaching of team members may be required depending on production levels.
• Develops and implements marketing activities within the budgetary constraints established by supervisor. This includes the oversight of the entire marketing budget of the specialty area.
• Maintains and applies a thorough understanding of the bank's credit policy, SBA eligibility and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete loan application packages
• Generates loans that maintain an acceptable level of performance. Assists special assets and credit services in any requested servicing action within assigned marketing area.
• Travel is required
• Performs other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate must have extensive SBA BDO experience in the area of specialization.
