Senior Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships, C&I
Overview:
The Cyber & Intelligence solutions group (C&I) leads Mastercard’s efforts to develop new customer solutions that build trust in the converging worlds of physical-world payments, digital payments and cybersecurity. C&I provides solutions in the areas of cybersecurity, digital identity, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and fraud management. Our customers include issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors, governments and consumers. We are creating competitive advantage for Mastercard through the innovation of highly differentiated new solutions.
This position will report to the SVP Strategy & Partnerships. The SVP Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships will partner with senior C&I leadership and drive the process for generating, managing and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, IoT, digital identity, and fraud management. The role will also be the primary liaison between C&I and the team within Mastercard focused on commercially sustainable social impact (Mastercard Strategic Growth). The role will coordinate C&I efforts in support of our Doing Well by Doing Good mission.
The role will support the senior leadership team in creating strategy and accelerating strategy execution through M&A and partnership development.

Role:
The role will focus on four areas:
• M&A corporate development
◦ Identify and evaluate fit of potential acquisition targets
◦ Develop strategic rationale for acquisitions
◦ Lead and advise C&I leadership on M&A activity
◦ In conjunction with the global M&A team, develop and implement strategies and processes to align activity across C&I
◦ Partner with Mastercard's central M&A function on valuation and transaction execution
• Strategy development
◦ Partner with SVP Strategy & Partnerships and strategy team in development of business unit strategies
◦ Develop M&A and partnership strategies
• Strategic partnership development
◦ Partner with product leads to identify, develop and execute large partnerships that move the needle on C&I priorities
◦ Structure and negotiate partnership arrangements and terms
• Government solutions and commercially sustainable social impact
◦ Represent C&I on Mastercard Strategic Growth’s leadership team
◦ Partner with the Government Engagement Center of Excellence to drive government adoption of C&I solutions globally
◦ Coordinate and Influence C&I activities to deliver solutions that support financial inclusion and inclusive growth
All About You
• Bachelor's degree; MBA from top program an asset
• Consulting and/or Investment Banking experience preferred
• Experience in payments, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence markets an asset
• Experience working with senior levels of private equity, venture capital and incubation firms
• Very strong communicator with executive level presentation, relationship building, and negotiation experience
• Strong partnering and influencing skills; ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, across all levels within a complex environment
• Willingness to travel – up to 40% globally
