Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Database Developer in New York, New York
Produce business critical transactional database systems as well as large Data Warehouse/Data Marts to meet scalability, stability, and performance requirements. Design, enhance, and develop databases across different database environments. Responsible for proof-of-concept evaluations, coding, design, testing, implementing, deploying, and continued support of project releases as well as on-call Level 2 support. Collaborate with the firm's engineering teams for storage/communication solutions. Provide Database Infrastructure Engineering for stability, scalability, and capacity planning. Plan and execute database schema changes, bottlenecks analysis, outage prevention/resolution, server/database performance improvements, database maintenance, and database recovery. Responsible for database development (stored procedures, ETL, and tools) and queries/stored procedures review and optimization. Enforce database security, standards, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience of experience in the position offered or five (5) years of experience as a Database Developer, Database Administrator, Computer Systems Analyst, Programmer, or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: DB2 Linux version 11.1 or above including SQL, XQuery, Temp tables, plan explains, MQTs, MDCs, MPP partitioning design, and referential integrity constraints; Sybase; DBA; proposing/reviewing solutions; implementing solutions in production to achieve improvements; performance optimization on server, database, query, data structures, and data flow leads; database architecture; OLTP and Data Warehouse design; Federated database systems; Database Administration; serving as a leader in outage resolutions and multi-team global turnovers; serving as escalation point for major issues; modeling tools including Power Designer; scripting languages including Perl or Unix/K-Shell; and relational database performance and tuning including proper use of indices, database statistics/reorgs, and de-normalization concepts.
