Role Value Proposition:
This position is an Individual Contributor role in MetLife’s U.S. Compliance organization Testing & Monitoring team specifically responsible for conducting testing and monitoring of the business control environment for Group Benefits; Retirement & Income Solutions; MetLife Holdings; Worldwide Benefits; and Property & Casualty business groups in addition to the Global Technology & Operations units and functions supporting the U.S. businesses. The individual will be required to plan, lead, and execute comprehensive compliance reviews to assess whether MetLife’s business controls are operating as intended and effectively mitigating material compliance and regulatory risks. This position will also independently manage compliance projects and work directly with business management on various compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leads compliance reviews of business units' operating practices and administrative procedures to identify areas of potential compliance risk
• Identifies, monitors and tests key controls, as prescribed by the annual testing & monitoring plan
• Communicates results of compliance reviews to Senior Compliance Managers and Business Leaders
• Manages compliance projects from initial stages through implementation of corrective actions
• Provides direction to business partners with regard to the impact of laws and regulations, and helps with the development of policies and procedures.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree required;
• Ability to engage in complex problem solving and analytical thinking as required
• Effective Communications Skills
• Relationship Building Abilities
Preferred:
• JD, MBA, or CPA a plus;
• Financial or Insurance industry professional certifications or designations a plus
• Solid knowledge of compliance testing or audit experience preferred
• Knowledge of Company operations, systems, and transactions, or Company financial products and services a plus
