MERCHANDISER
The Merchandiser supports Store Brand Leader and Visual Merchandising Managers to lead a profitable and customer centric environment by developing talent, facilitating the merchant process and applying merchant skills to create a compelling, well curated customer experience.
REPORTS TO: Visual Merchandising Manager
SALES & PROFITABILITY
• Supports the store leadership to meet or exceed sales, payroll and shrink goals.
• Assesses the business using company reporting tools; prioritizes and creates action plans to impact results
• Communicates priority product and allocation needs to SBL and VMM
AESTHETIC UNDERSTANDING & APPLICATION
• Has a strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of the brand and local core customer
• Supports the execution of presentation inclusive of merchandising, floor planning, display and outfitting
• Supports product placement and outfitting that is reflective of trend, reinforces brand messaging, and inspires the customer
• Leads stock-to-sales processes and presentation standards
• Utilizes and maintains store structure and floor plan to creatively apply merchant skills
• Contributes creative ideas and solutions regarding merchandising and display
• Develops an understanding of how the merchant process impacts business and the customer experience
• Participates in an environment of creativity, inspiration and idea generation
• Supports the team in connecting brand aesthetic with store Social Media platforms
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
• Takes responsibility for own development and professional growth; identifies and trains role replacement in preparation for career
progression
• Supports an environment of self-awareness and self- development
• Utilizes merchant expertise to develop team to uphold presentation standards
• Supports a culture of action and accountability
• Gains ability to effectively assess, apply inspiration and execute the presentation with an entrepreneurial approach
• Participates in meetings and workshops that are well-planned, collaborative, educational and motivational
LEADERSHIP
• Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately filters and communicates presentation initiatives
• Possesses strong assessment and decision-making skills
• Is an entrepreneur, takes smart risks with measurable results
• Provides global insight in relationship to merchandising, display and fixture needs and communicates information to the SM and VM
• Acts as a liaison between leadership/visual team to store team by filtering communication of all presentation initiatives
• Builds and maintains productive partnerships
• Attends prototypes, store openings, meetings and display workshops where applicable
CUSTOMER CONNECTION
• Cultivates an environment of creativity to engage the customer and team
• Acts as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values and aesthetic
• Understands store specific distinctions to guide and tailor the experience
• Supports with engagement of local community via events and social media platforms
OPERATING PROCEDURES
• Adheres to and holds team accountable to Typical Day/Week Guidelines
• Trains and holds team accountable to The Standard
• Maintains a visually compelling store that is neat, clean and organized
• Adheres to and develops awareness around internal and external Loss Prevention procedures
• Partners with SBL, VMM and ASM to complete Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Planning
• Upholds all Company Policy and Procedures
• Partners with the SBL and VMM to manage physical integrity of store
