How you’ll make a difference:
As Senior Designer, you’ll drive continued growth of Custom Ink through innovative concepts that inspire our customers and elevate the team’s capabilities. This role will be a concept to completion design experience and will work cross functionally to propel Custom Ink’s marketing design offering forward to attract customers, earn sales, build lifetime value, and differentiate our brand visually. Our creative team is continually evolving and expanding in new and innovative approaches to design. You should be passionate about driving change and feel energized to help lead the charge to breakthrough ideas and revolutionary design. The Senior Designer will report to the Creative Design Manager and help make CustomInk a loved, admired, and enduring brand.
What you’ll do:
You’ll implement the Custom Ink brand in break-through creative that dramatically improves the performance of our various sales, marketing, and customer experience efforts. You'll translate our brand strategy into creative content and design that is remarkable, distinct, and memorable. As part of the design team, you’ll evolve our style to one that is distinctly ownable by Custom Ink. Duties will include:
• Bringing our brand to life in an exciting way that engages key audiences and helps people envision themselves using our products and services while staying true to brand guidelines and performance
• Leveraging our brand visually to build and strengthen customer relationships that drive sales, customer loyalty, and virality
• Developing high-performance, systematic collateral to be deployed via sales, stores, and the web that unifies the omnichannel customer experience
• Developing work that unifies and elevates the retail design experience and brand to its fullest potential
• Developing concepts and break-through designs for marketing and ecommerce initiatives
• Inspiring the team and customers with effective, beautiful work
• Translating data and insights from a test and learn environment into actionable design activities for which performance is the North Star
• Working closely with the copywriting team to ensure copy and visual design are working together
• Collaborating cross functionally to understand area business objectives and solve challenges with creative solutions
• Developing and managing multiple projects from concept to completion (on time and on budget)
• Translating our brand strategy and project creative briefs into compelling, branded designs

• Brand perception and awareness
• Lift in sales, customer satisfaction, or team satisfaction based on creative enhancements
• Creating engaging brand experiences that delight our customers
Of course, practicalities – like being on-time and on-budget with good throughput – are important as well. Over time, we will seek to establish quantitative metrics and goals in each of these areas.
What we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• At least 5 years of creative design experience with a strong portfolio in eCommerce and digital marketing design
• Design experience in retail and print design
• Previous work with products in a B2C marketing environment
• Ability to tackle challenges with creative problem-solving
• Limited art direction for design, photography and kinetic design as needed
• Some packaging design experience preferred
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to translating project creative briefs into engaging design experiences
• Development and use of brands toolkits
• Exceptional listening skills and the ability to get to the heart of a need
• Strong logical rationale for work and the capability to earn buy-in
• Fluent in insights that help propel design forward through performance
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
• Cross-functional relationships and effectiveness
• High level of creativity and understanding of marketing content strategies
• Leadership skills (relationship-building, influence, role modeling, coaching, prioritization, etc)
• Proven ability to collaborate with other creative functions (and processes), across departments/stakeholders, all with the ability to think big picture when needed
• Strong messaging and conceptual abilities
• Proven ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
• Team orientation and collaboration are critical for this role
• Experience in UX/UI, art direction, photography, 3D, prototyping and packaging design a plus
