Position Description:
The Copy Editor will play a key role in producing copy for emails, product, editorial content, marketing activities, social media, print and digital media projects.
Organizational Structure:
The Copy Editor reports directly to the Senior Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities
• Produce copy that is engaging, educational and establishes and maintains consistent brand voice and style throughout all forms of communication.
• Product Copy: Produce engaging copy for product names and all product descriptions for vince.com; knowledge of tailoring, fabrics and luxury garment construction is necessary.
• Ensure accuracy of product information and price points.
• Email Marketing Copy: Produce copy for emails including product, editorial and promotional-focused messaging.
• Collection Overviews: Produce internal and external-facing copy introducing each seasonal collection to be translated across channels.
• Social Media: Work with the Marketing Department to produce editorial copy to support social media channels.
• Editorial Content: Produce editorial copy in the Vince voice to support branded content from vince.com.
• Product Knowledge: Produce seasonal guide for store associates incorporating key product points, buy strategies and styling notes.
• Printed Materials: Produce copy for print media, invitations and direct mail projects
• Promotions: Develop new promotional verbiage as needed; produce copy for all in store and digital promotional activities.
• Site Copy: Non-product site copy; oversee and produce copy for terms & conditions, shipping policies and marketing messages. Adapt copy from existing templates for surveys and sweepstakes and protect the business by ensuring copy has stylistic, account, and legal approvals.
• Advertising and Partnerships: Produce engaging storytelling copy advertising and partnerships
• Strategic Projects: Work closely with the Marketing Department and stakeholders as an editorial representative to produce strategic copy for new category and product launches.
• Provide seasonal copy updates and copy style guide for the Marketing Department.
Qualifications
• Four+ years of proven experience in e-commerce and marketing copywriting within the retail or fashion industry
• Excellent command of the English language and editing/proofreading skills
• An understanding of the online interactive experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team and autonomously
• Detail-oriented and highly motivated
• B.A. in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field
