The role of Social Media Specialist is responsible for the planning, production, and execution of product and brand content across ModCloth’s social media channels with a real time impact to the business.
Reporting to our Sr. Manager of PR and Social, you will manage and execute our owned brand social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You will leverage existing marketing content and produce new content independently and in cooperation with other teams and outside resources. You will work closely with our graphic design, in-house photography, and freelance team to create social specific content to support the needs of departments across the business including merchandising, buying, promotions, email, blog, and customer experience teams. You will also be responsible for measuring and reporting on the performance of our social media and providing recommendations for improvements based on findings.
What you'll do...
• Manage content calendar for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, ensuring a balance of social marketing support for teams across the business
• Write captions for all posts with strong knowledge of the brand voice
• Upload and schedule all FB, IG, TW posts and post live when needed, including weekends and off hours
• Create and post live for 3-7 Instagram Stories per week, including occasional weekends
• Project manage and produce custom social content from social media team, graphic designers, #teammodcloth, stores team, vendors, and freelancers
• Innovate on new social media content types
• Develop social content process and plan for stores team
• Source content from brand ambassadors and customers
• Create detailed social media plans, including IG Stories, for IRLS, events, special programs, influencer takeovers etc.
• Monitor social media channels, engaging with influencers, partners, and customers, working closely with customer care team and elevating issues to the appropriate teams.
• Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on social media performance
• Research, stay up to date on, and implement social media strategies and tools
• Coordinate content sharing with email and ads team
• Paid boosting of organic content
• Travel to obtain live social media coverage when needed

• 2-4 years experience in a social media role
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Background in marketing with specialized experience in social media
• Experience managing extensive editorial calendar for multiple platforms
• Expertise with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest
• Experience in content and content marketing
• Strong and adaptable writing skills
• Has an eye towards editorializing product messaging
• Able to collaborate to inspire engaging content development with cross-functional partners
• Project management/creative production skills
• Keen eye for visual creatives - photographic/videographic experience a plus
• Previous customer interaction/service experience
• Has a culturally relevant perspective on current events and style; is able to translate that into meaningful dialogue with millennial women
