Assistant Vice President, Marketing
Matrix Hair Color - US
As Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Marketing you will be responsible for the development and execution of US marketing programs for the Matrix hair color business in line with established strategic divisional goals. The AVP has overall responsibility for the brand vision for the next 1-2 years and achieving the annual budget plan as well as the growth of the brand in their respective categories. The AVP will interface with departments such as: business development, finance, education, public relations, marketing services, creative, labs, technical packaging, International marketing teams and Executive Management. The AVP will manage and develop a team of marketing members.
Job Requirements:
• Professional/salon hair color marketing experience highly preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business related function required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 8 - 10 years progressively responsible experience successfully guiding strategic marketing, branding, and product management within consumer goods businesses.
• Exceptional financial acumen required including experience with budgeting and P&L management.
• Proven leadership skills including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across functional areas of the business enabling the successful achievement of initiatives across all brand categories.
• Superior leadership and communication skills. Need to be able to articulate clear business direction and strategies. Also, to liaise between different departments, participate in senior level management discussions and facilitate the creative process at all levels.
• Ability to travel domestically periodically (25%).
• Language skills a plus.
Judgment and Decision Making:
This position requires low level of supervision. An ideal candidate would be able to work autonomously to achieve strategic goals. Additionally, the Assistant Vice President Marketing needs to have a proven track record of providing superb level of supervision and guidance to grow and develop a high performance team.

1. Communicate overall divisional strategy to category leaders and in collaboration, work to develop effective strategies to achieve annual budget and to influence innovation in all brand programs.

1. Develop and ensure execution of strategic marketing plans to build profitability and grow market share.

1. Responsible for the people growth, development and mentorship of the marketing team.

1. Responsible for managing all financial aspects of the business across categories and in the development, monitoring, reconciliation and senior management review of the departmental budget.

1. Develop strategic Promotional Calendar through collaborative effort with category leaders to drive sales and maintain effective brand image and innovation.

1. Represent categories for cross-functional strategic and update meetings to include new product development, print and package, education, brand updates and presentations.
