Description
The position reports to the Executive Director, Global Financial Controls. This Director position will be a technology lead for the Global Financial Controls group, leading the development, implementation, and steady-state design of the SAP GRC tool and related end user dashboarding capabilities. In addition, this role will be a controls subject matter expert for select global business processes, lead the Sarbanes-Oxley 302 reporting process, serve as the Relationship Lead for external auditor, and lead Acquired Brand Readiness assessments. S/he plays a key role in providing governance, risk management, and controls expertise/guidance to various stakeholders at the global, regional, affiliate, brand and functional levels. The position will also involve interaction with other key compliance functions within the Company, notably with IT Compliance & Internal Audit to ensure the Company assurance model is operating effectively.
This position is based in Melville NY with occasional travel to NYC.
Ensure that the initiatives under position’s area of responsibility are successfully executed, while maintaining a global control environment that is agile and responsive to change. Key areas of responsibility include:
SAP GRC & Dashboarding Technology Lead (40% of time)
• Lead the development and implementation of SAP GRC tool (Process Control module)
◦ Provide thought leadership on GRC tool implementation. Active participation and input on tool design, stakeholder communication/alignment, set-up/implementation, and HyperCare.
◦ Tracking, coordination, and quality review of process-level deliverables provided by consultant teams prior to distribution to external auditor and/or ELC Leadership.
◦ Involvement in the change management process, ensuring process/control owners are aligned with proposed control updates and are adequately trained to execute new GRC processes.
• Lead SAP GRC steady-state tool
◦ Oversee GRC rule development/updates, dashboarding and reporting updates to ensure the application meets business requirements. Interface with Risk & Controls Center of Excellence to execute updates. Liaise with GIS on tool infrastructure updates, as needed.
◦ Increase application effectiveness and performance through periodic quality improvement assessment.
Controls Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for select Global Business Processes (30% of time)
• Design/Maintain Framework (including considerations around key changes / transformations with the ELC org)
◦ Maintain an effective global ELC SOX key control framework for select global business processes, ensuring controls standardization, identification and updates based on changes to the organization
◦ Identify and recommend innovation, automation, and analytic-driven approaches to assess and design controls
◦ Collaborate with stakeholders involved in organizational changes to ensure controls are identified, documented, and designed effectively. Supply subject matter expertise on risk management, compliance and internal control standards for business owners, notably in new processes and transformation areas within the organization.
• Deficiency Analysis & Remediation Guidance
◦ Critically analyze control deficiencies and provide guidance to develop impactful, sustainable, and timely mitigation plans.
• Remediation Guidance & Validation
◦ Provide guidance on control remediation strategies to process and control owners
◦ Validation that action plans implemented achieve assurance requirements
• Process Improvements
◦ Monitor emerging best practices in internal controls, regulatory compliance, and validation programs and adopt continuous improvement principles to support enhanced control environment.
IT Compliance Special Point of Contact (10% of time)
• Serve as the special point of contact (SPOC) with our technology counterpart, IT Compliance, to ensure a shared awareness of new system implementations, control change implications, and testing results
• Ensure IT control implications are shared with other Control SMEs across GFC team to facilitate controls framework updates
Third Party Administrator (TPA) Assessment & Reporting (10% of time)
• Administer and lead the TPA assessment and reporting program to ensure controls over service and sub-service organizations are effectively maintained by various stakeholders.
External Auditor Coordination (10% of time)
• Analysis of annual KPMG fees to ensure fees align with services provided and year-over-year variances are understood and clearly explained. Upon Audit Committee approval, communicate approved fees to Regional/Functional Finance leads.
-Facilitate annual audit debrief and audit process improvements between business units and external auditor.
• Coordination with external auditor on annual Planning & International Closing Meetings
Acquired Brands Readiness Assessment (ad hoc)
• Upon acquisition on new brands, work with new brand teams to assess current control environment, develop a controls framework, and establish a roadmap for development/remediation of identified control gaps. Controls would then be integrated into global controls frameworks.

Qualifications
Minimum Education level: University degree, Business Management, Finance or Accounting
Minimum Years of Experience: 10
% Travel Time: 5%
Required Language Proficiency: Fluent English
Licenses or Certifications: MBA/CPA/CISA a plus
Additional Job Specifications (e.g., physical demands, working conditions, equipment/machinery, specific skills, etc.):
• Relevant experience in the following areas: regulatory compliance, internal controls, financial risk, internal/external audit, shared service centers/centers of excellence;
• Expertise in GRC tool (SAP, in particular) and financial regulatory compliance standards (Sarbanes-Oxley, SSAE18, COSO);
• Advanced Microsoft Office suite, Tableau/Dashboarding tools, and SAP skills are a must;
• Excellent organization, presentation, communication, and comprehension skills;
