Position Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the month-end close and the global consolidation procedures, as well as corporate accounting functions. This role will work with a number of internal domestic and international business partners and will have 3-5 direct reports supporting a larger team.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage the Company’s monthly accounting close procedures, including the global corporate consolidation process and financial statement preparation, the coordination and review of the intercompany eliminations, expense allocations, and other consolidation activities, interacting directly with global accounting personnel to ensure data integrity of all financial information
• Assist with the integration into the monthly close process for all new acquisitions, including providing process and system training to the respective finance teams
• Responsible for reviewing the quarterly reporting packages submitted by global divisions for completeness and accuracy, the preparation/review of the quarterly schedules required to support the external reporting process, and coordination of requests from external and internal auditors
• Responsible for managing corporate accounting activities, including capitalized assets, cash, payroll, accrued expenses and other general accounting areas, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies, and serving as the process owner for the associated internal controls
• Responsible for reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations, identifying and explaining fluctuations in financial information and providing requested information to divisional controllers
• Implement system and process improvements for the general accounting functions to drive operational efficiencies while maintaining accounting integrity, participate in system implementations and upgrades, as well as in various production support issues, application upgrades, testing and end user training
• Oversee master data functions, including the global system set up for new entities, stores and accounts
• Participate in system upgrades and developing process improvements.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses for management.
Qualifications:
• B.S. or above degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred
• Experience in a consolidation role managing several direct reports
• 7-10 years of professional experience with a public accounting/private company mix preferred
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask without sacrificing accuracy
• Ability to learn new processes quickly
• Excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills
