Director Innovation and Marketing Hub Travel Retail Worldwide
Description
The Director for TR Innovation & Marketing Hub, TRWW will lead the development and execution of all TREX (Travel Retail Exclusives) for a cluster of brands within the Travel Retail division. TREX (Travel Retail Exclusives) are a unique offering in the Travel Retail Channel which represents 25% of the Travel Retail business. The innovation team will be responsible for accelerating the growth of this category.
Additionally, the position will lead select key strategic initiatives that will enable continuous improvement for the Innovation Hub (speed to market, local and global kitting process, Cost of Goods (COG) improvements).
Responsibilities:
• Drive growth and gaining market share for brands in scope
• Ensure TREX KPI’s are being achieved on each brand (Mix of Business (MOB) targets, COG, target timing, inventory management) in line with the individual brand strategic direction
• Own the Innovation Hub development process. Partnering with Global Brand Supply Chain (GBSC), Packaging, Creative, Procurement, Global Supplier Relations (GSR), Inventory Control to ensure on-time execution of all TREX aligned with brands in scope
• Participate in the continuous improvement that will enhance innovation and operational efficiencies. Centered around Speed to market, COG improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
• Conduct semi-annual strategic mapping of TREX competitive offer with a value proposition and go to market execution
Strategic Initiatives:
• Drive growth and market share gains for brands in scope by developing a go-to-market TREX strategy across all regions and channels.
• Participate in the continuous improvement that will enhance innovation and operational efficiencies. Centered around Speed to market, COG improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
• Align and engage the Innovation Hub vision across the organization
Operations / Efficiency:
• Own the development process (PPD = Product, Package, Development), partnering with Global Brand Supply Chain), TPM (Third Party Manufacting), Supply Chain, Packaging, etc.
• Develop individual branded innovation calendars addressing the increasing need for exclusivity
• Identify key pain points in the development process and identify improvement solutions
• Ensure TREX (Travel Retail Exclusives) KPI’s are being achieved (MOB, COG, Timing, Inventory management)
Innovation:
• Lead innovation for select sub-categories through GSR, packaging and vendor partnership
• Participate in semi-annual competitive reviews and identify opportunities
• Develop innovation recommendation for future TREX development
Qualifications
• University degree
• 8+ years related experience
• Superior project management skills – must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects across multiple brands in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in consumer packaged goods (beauty strongly preferred)
• Understanding the commercial aspect of the business
• Knowledge of GBSC (Global Brand Supply Chain) organizations, processes and project planning skills are necessary
• Previous experience in building or ability to create capability “from scratch” preferred
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across all departments (Marketing, Regions, Demand Planning, GBSC, GSR, Packaging, Procurement, Inventory Control, etc.)
• Significant analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Fully capable of using MAC & PC software including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
