SUMMARY
Perry Ellis International is currently seeking a Product Coordinator that will be based at our Nike Swim design office located in Portland, OR. The Product Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the overall development of Nike Swim Apparel and will ensure all aspects of styles are on calendar time to receive samples when needed and ready to go into production to hit delivery dates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate with Quality Control team for testing and approvals on fabric, trim and product.
• Send out color standards to liaison office and/or vendors for color approvals.
• Assist with e-mail communication with liaison offices/vendors, follow-up with all communication on a daily basis.
• Interact with Design team for comments and approvals on all development.
• Support the Product Development team to build and maintain apparel tech pack Bill of Materials (BOM’s) according to established criteria.
• Participate in weekly meeting with Design and Merchandising to discuss progress of developments (fabrics, trims, prints, etc.).
• Create P.O.'s for all sample fabric & salesman samples.
• Follow-up weekly to ensure sample production hits deadline to receive for Sales Meeting.
• Support an efficient process and communication flow between Design, Marketing and Development for all issues regarding the ranges and products.
• Support product management and development in all issues regarding the realization of products.
• Maintain the PLM system according to each deadline and milestone required.
• Have the ability to work extremely well within the team and the category, multitask and execute high organizational skills.
• Assist with the Prototyping and implementation of new & innovative designs, components, processes, materials and concepts into a manufacturable and marketable finished product.
• Maintains appropriate documentation for assigned products; ensures all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs, costing, test reports and prototype notes.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in apparel design or related field
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Basic knowledge of material, trim and product development
• Working knowledge in design, development, research, materials, and manufacturing in the Sports Products industry
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment with multiple deadlines
• Good computer skills & knowledge of Web PDM or PLM, Essentus, Excel and other programs (i.e. InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Sports background (Swimming/water sports) is a plus
