Overview
The Marketing Manager is responsible and accountable for working with key management to develop and execute marketing strategies and tactics to meet sales and profit goals. The Manager works cross-functionally with a large team to ensure plans are executed.
This role will be focused on driving the Champion brand within the Printwear channel. The Champion brand has been gaining share and delivering double digit sales growth. This important role is critical to supporting the brand strategy to deliver continued growth and relevance with our target customers.
The right person will have the strategic skills, leadership, and drive to execute to make a fast and sustained impact on this growing brand within the Printwear channel.
Responsibilities
Product Development & Strategic Direction
• Identifies product gaps, market trends, and concept development.
• Partners with Design, Merchandising and others in the organization on annual product line development and new program launches. Evaluates products to ensure financial and business objectives are reached.
• Responsible for all necessary inputs to develop financial plans.
Owns P&L and partners with manager(s) on all financial and marketing plan development
• Responsible for planning quarterly, OPC and LRP sales and gross margins across designated product lines.
• P&L responsibility with analysis of wholesale pricing strategies and cost analysis.
• Manages operating plan and projection analysis: shipment/pos/inventory evaluation, recommendations, and monthly tracking to ensure financial and inventory goals met. Manages Champion MAP spend.
• Manages E&O and style/sku count to maximize inventory and ROI.
• Manages inventory through forecasts and TIL management process.
Customer Marketing
• Works closely with HBI Marketing and PR, Creative Services and Agencies as needed
• Drives/participates in the development of major initiatives, research activities and trade advertising campaigns.
• Leads the development and execution of sell-in materials, including all catalogs, eblasts and social media campaigns.
• Works closely with our distributors to ensure that they are on brand, driving a marketing calendar and providing brand marketing assets to them.
Brand
• Identifies, recommends, and develops category growth strategies.
• Coordinates consistent image, logo and all approvals with Legal team.
• Works with the Brand Champion to develop and execute integrated programs and ensure brand consistency
Business Execution
• Partners with Sales to drive sales at all key accounts.
• Manages annual product updates and new program launches with respect to style set-up and plannability.
• Coordinate trade shows, customer sales meeting presentations and employee meetings/presentations as directed.
• Leads and assists other functional areas with resolving business issues related to execution.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
• BS/BA Degree required with 7+ years in marketing, merchandise planning or retail management or MBA with 4+ years of experience.
• Strong cross functional leadership skills; ability to manage complex projects effectively.
• The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills as well as developed skills in apparel product knowledge and development.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills, solid financial acumen.
• Superior interpersonal communications skills and planning and organization skills are required.
• Exhibit highest level of business ethics.
• The successful candidate must thrive in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities.
