SUMMARY
The primary role of the Director, Global VM is to translate the vision of the Senior Director of Global Visual Merchandising into tangible strategic initiatives. This person will lead the development of In-Store programs that enhance Global seasonal product presentations and amplify seasonal messages within the store environment. They will provide operational structure, develop efficient processes, and maintain fiscal responsibility. They will be a key partner to Retail Marketing, internal and external Creative teams, and Global Store Design.
This role will have one direct report – the Global Visual Merchandising Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Partner within Global Visual Merchandising Team, Retail Marketing, and internal/external Creative teams to develop retail programs that enhance seasonal merchandising strategies across all store formats.
•Manage relationships with external creative agencies to develop strategy, manage scope of work, and develop creative for all Global Visual Merchandising projects.
•Work with cross-functional leads to estimate, create, manage, and track deadlines for new and existing projects.
•Partner cross-functionally each season to ensure all global retail programs translate successfully to all Regions and Channels in order to improve brand consistency.
•Manage the publication of Global Visual Merchandising guidelines for each key initiative to ensure brand consistency and seamless execution across channels.
•Partner with Regions to conduct necessary visual merchandising training on new initiatives in order to drive improved retail performance.
•Continuously evaluate the Global Retail landscape to identify innovative ways to quickly improve the customer experience via Visual Merchandising and immediately drive results.
•Develop a charter for the use of the mock store to test for new Global Visual Merchandising strategies and concepts and ensure corporate buy in.
•Work closely with the Sr. Director Global Visual Merchandising and Global Store Design to develop new fixtures and 3D Visual elements to enhance the in-store presentation.
•Create and maintain the Global Visual Merchandising department calendar to ensure all key milestones and deliverables are executed on time and on budget.
•Manage the Global Visual Merchandising budget.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
•10+years of Retail Merchandising and In-store Marketing experience
•Highly skilled in Visual Merchandising, In-store presentation and display, within sports apparel, fashion or home accessories business
•Prior experience working for a global company with a strong brand and distinct culture
•Experience succeeding in a fast-paced growth environment involving time-sensitive, complex projects
•Excellent Project Management skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Strong influencing and negotiating skills
•Ability to problem solve and develop creative solutions
•An ability to form productive, cross-functional relationships
•Strategic thinker with the ability to influence key stake holders
•Ability to thrive in a fact paced, achievement based environment within varying degrees of ambiguity
•Ability to direct and manage external creative teams and agencies
•Microsoft Office and Mac platform proficiency
•Bachelors’ Degree preferred
