Assists category / lifestyle business functional unit management in the execution of merchandise strategy to deliver against lifestyle segment consumer/customer needs. Accountable for system maintenance to drive product line execution. May include maintenance of product line management database, pricing database, product costing reviews and category financial forecasts. Serves as a key contact for prototype and salesman sample development, tracking, and maintenance of category product library. Assists with ad hoc reporting on product line performance and is capable of financial and business analysis to assist Merchandising organizational with financial KPI tracking and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prototype request and tracking (after design hand off).
• Accountable for tracking and performance reporting for product lines.
• May act as a liaison between supply chain / sourcing / manufacturing with regards to prototype execution.
• Accountable for timeline adherence for seasonal prototype and sample needs.
• Assists the merchandising team with the development of seasonal white space analysis through market surveillance, and retail audits.
• Utilizes consumer / customer demand analytics to assist in making assortment recommendations.
• In partnership with the business unit leaders accountable for delivering near term financial plans.
• May be asked to attend assigned key customer seasonal line release meetings to assist in sample management and room set up.
• In conjunction with brand marketing, assists with seasonal sales materials development and proofing (catalogs, product copy, ticketing mechanical proofing).
Key points of interaction:
• Merchandise Manager / Merchandiser & other lifestyle segment & category leads
• Project management: participates and prepares data for stage gate meetings
• Marketing: assists with delivering accurate execution of key elements of communication plan
• Sales: assist in the development of sales materials (catalogs, samples and presentations) for key customers
• Sales operations/planning/forecasting: assists in demand forecast analytics on an ad hoc basis
• Networks with other Merchandising Specialists to drive consistent best practices approach
Additional Capabilities:
• Strong follow up and execution skill set.
• Cross functional collaborator.
• Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience in retail sales analysis, business planning, costing, and pricing a plus.
Job Requirements:
• 4 Year degree. 1-2 years work experience in related field a plus
• Ability to work within tight timelines and additional hours around key calendar deadlines
• Impeccable organization skills, accurate data entry, and efficient / effective operator
