POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for leading the creative evolution, adoption and execution of Store Design, Store Planning. The position functions in a Shared Services role supporting all design concepts for all brands. This position works cross functionally with Marketing, Visual, Store Operations, Real Estate, Construction and Store Facilities departments.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the development of key strategic operational plans for the design team and for ensuring that the design initiatives are successfully managed, delivered on time and on budget with a high-quality outcome reflecting each brand's image.
• Leads all store design related strategic initiatives and ensures cross-functional alignment is achieved and all strategic milestones are met.
• Protects each concept and each brand's design integrity by determining clear guidelines, standards and criteria by which the Store Design Team can effectively implement into the architectural plans process and the execution of the architectural construction drawings.
• Development and implementation of SG&A related budgeting and reporting standards in collaboration with the Sr Director, the Brands, the Construction and the Financial Departments Corporate and Brand specific.
• Coordinates the activities of store design and planning in all matters relating to implementing store design elements, streamline efficiencies and to maintain a high level of quality control throughout the life cycle of the new store environments working in close partnership with Construction Team.
• Implements a successful communication process that informs the Store Planning and Construction departments of design directives and changes. Communicates with associates any changes in the design area that affect their respective function.
• Communicates to cross functional partners; creates and manages project timelines for design initiatives for brand deliverables and project specific deliverables. Tracks, follows up, and drives adherence to milestones to maintain timelines.
• Communicates to stakeholders the status of the store design projects, initiatives and proactively notify on a timely basis of any major issue that will affect the program.
• Ensures store designers and planners adhere to the Brand design and specifications criteria. Ensures team members are tracking internal and external work schedules and progress to meet assigned turn over dates and quality standards.
• Accountable for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of the architectural plans as it relates to the design criteria.
• Interacts with Real Estate/Legal on design related leasing issues. Assists Legal with any leasing issue that will affect the store design.
• Ensures all vendors in area of responsibility are committed to the roll-out programs. Accountability includes managing all design delivery deadlines and outsourced vendor's committed dates, resolving issues that would have a negative effect on the program. Promotes and maintains ethical relationships with current and new suppliers or any company or individual soliciting business with the Chico's FAS, Inc.
• Evaluates vendor performance, products, financial stability and competitive pricing and ability to meet construction deadlines. Negotiates pricing with design vendors.
• Values individuality and the diverse talents of their team. Leads the team by communicating expectations, providing guidance, delivering feedback, and empowering the team to be their best.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related education or field
• 8-10 years' work experience in a similar capacity with a national apparel retailer
• Proven successful leadership experience in a related position
• Excellent organizational skills
• Successful experience in the interaction with Company Executives
• Proven success in conveying design conceptual ideations and vision
• Excellent written and verbal skills including presentation and Platform skills
• Excellent computer skills including current industry software and AutoCAD proficiency.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of architectural and design plans including details and materials
• Portfolio required
