SUMMARY
• The Senior Product Development Manager will be responsible for the research and development of new product from the approved design through confirmation stage.
• Work within a team oriented structure consisting of all disciplines necessary to develop a product line achieving product objectives within the established timelines.
• Coordinate all phases of development utilizing the available resources of Product Line Management, Design, Lasts, CAD, Costing, Duty, Compliance, Product Testing, Fit and Wear Testing, and International Development teams.
• Support and mentor Product Development team members.
• Be proactive to generate new ideas, materials and components for enhanced product creation and innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Serve as the technical & manufacturing resource for product line management, design, development and other members of project teams.
• Assist and contribute ideas for product design, construction, materials, compounds and components to enhance functionality, aesthetics, duty, compliance, fit, and profit margin.
• Generate a technical development packages to communicate intended construction and aesthetic details for each project to overseas development partners.
• Evaluate product team feedback and implement revisions as appropriate.
• Sign off on all CAD prior to opening sample molds.
• Examine all prototypes to assure all specifications are correct and within product compliance, duty and cost targets.
• Lead all fit and wear testing from early prototypes to final confirmed wear testing, implement product revisions as appropriate to meet fit goals.
• Achieve timeline milestones for sample deliverables at appropriate maturities.
• Confirm final production confirmation samples on time at quality.
• Maintain project status within the (PDM) product development management software.
• Assist on production quality issues when necessary.
• International and domestic travel as required to achieve a high level of product and component development, including visits to manufacturing countries / factories.
Projects should meet or improve upon industry standards for perceived quality and value, profit margin, biomechanics, performance, and aesthetics. Tooling efficiency and manufacturability are key in this role with a design-led brand.

• Applicable technical degree preferred - manufacturing, mechanical, or chemical engineering, product design, biomechanics, etc.
• Five years experience in footwear development.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, work ethic, and teamwork.
• Should have footwear competitive market awareness combined with technical problem solving ability.
• Current industry standard technical knowledge of footwear development and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communications skills with experience communicating product details.
