JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Product Performance Innovation will work closely with the Chief Product Officer, Design Teams, Merchandising and Supply Chain leads to create and define a product pipeline of 1-5 yr. product innovations that support strategic business requirements and commercial innovation opportunities.
You will research, discover, create and manage an innovation portfolio of products and concepts from original idea to seasonal brand challenges. Working with leadership, you will design / develop materials and product solutions reflecting on Brand growth opportunities, market / consumer opportunities, unmet consumer needs, and new technological opportunities.
You will be responsible for successfully collaborating and transitioning innovation projects to Brand teams. The ability to influence product teams and leadership, combined with an ability to challenge and re-think the future is critical.

Key Accountabilities and Skills Required:
• Expert performance based innovation knowledge and exceptional design skills
• Consumer connection and insights engagement experience
• Demonstrated ability to think conceptually, drive concepts and innovation themes to enable visual and verbal communication to internal and external audiences
• Develop proof of concept and testing to ensure function and manufacturability
• Conduct global trend research to identify whitespace opportunities
• Build strong collaborative relationships with design, merchandising, product development and marketing colleagues
• Great communication skills, including presentations to large groups
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects against timelines and budgets
• Team management experience with a diverse group of talent
• Ability to identify and proactively work around roadblocks; influence and creatively address conflicts of priorities, beliefs or interests
• Savvy computer and design program skills required for presentations, development, etc
• 5-7 years of experience in design and innovation product space
• Global travel required
