Job Summary:
The Visual Manager will be responsible for developing and executing visual strategies (in the international franchise stores) by creating visual presentations (floorsets, windows, sell through options) to drive top line sales and create and encourage collaboration with franchise partners from a brand/visual standpoint. This position will ensure that there is a consistent overall Children’s Place brand image that is projected worldwide at all times by acting as a brand ambassador for The Children’s Place.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
• Assist with the development of the corporate visual merchandising presentation for all categories (by country), starting with conceptual through execution phases, each season is different per partner based on their buy (mock store is set four times a year with full assortment to show what The Children’s Place will present that season)
• Partner with VP, Visual and International Merchandising Team/franchise partners to develop and execute product concepts and positioning
• Work closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Store Development, and Store Operations to promote an optimal in-store experience by understanding the product assortment, promotional calendar ,and various store architecture (franchise partners, in store teams, brand managers, visual managers, partner marketing departments)
• Work closely with Store Design Team to determine store layout, shop allocation, and fixture package, all to help achieve the highest dollar per square foot
• Partner closely with the Merchants and franchise partners to determine product, supporting key initiatives, and styling (per country to support promotions, allocations, inventory levels, and country specific needs, adjustments and placement varies depending on buy by partner)
• Partner with Planning & Allocation seasonally to ensure stock levels and capacities support merchandising direction and ensure average store capacity
• Manage the creation of each floorset for each country and present to VP, Visual and International Merchandising Team
• Develop creative initiatives that continually evolve and elevate The Children's Place brand; support creative initiatives by country
• Direct the reporting to identify presentation opportunities and suggest solutions that have the potential to impact top line sales and profitability
• Partner with the International Merchant Team to build the season’s assortment and work closely with partners during their buy
• Request and review from each country competitor photos of in store and window marketing
• Ensure consistency and quality of all information included in in-store documents (applies to general visual standards as well as seasonal, monthly or business required changes, including floorset, weekly communications and windows); create all in-store documents by country and store necessary
• Validate all final floorset/window directives, delivery updates, and tier information while ensuring information is passed to visual and brand guide teams; review final in store execution and communicate changes accordingly
• Manage execution to deadlines as outlined on project/floorset/cross functional calendars
• Manage weekly markdown reports, late SKU information to determine necessary SKU placement/merchandise substitutions, and visual updates communicated via store communication
• Collaborate with each partner/country to receive this information, each country has different markdowns, late skus, and sku placement
• Conduct store set walk thrus with cross-functional business partners and franchise partners
• Facilitate store set presentations (quarterly sales, Board of Directors/investor walk thrus, photoshoots)
• Identify and develop training opportunities to build visual merchandising skills, onboard all new partners, and train and develop Brand Managers, Operation Managers, and Visual Mangers per country; travel to market to execute workshops
• Work directly with the field leadership teams to identify opportunities, gain feedback, and explore continued presentation development to achieve optimal execution and selling success
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in corporate visual merchandising or related field
Skills and Behaviors:
• Strong management skills
• Knowledge of visual merchandising techniques and practices
• Strong understanding of merchandising and its direct impact on sales
• Proven ability to create seasonal window campaigns with a highly innovative and creative view
• Ability to provide significant feedback, ideas, and hindsight on current and future floorsets, tools, and seasonal strategies
• Strong proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop
• Proven creativity with a strong aesthetic sensibility and excellent visual merchandising skills
• Strong understanding of product positioning strategies
• Competition and industry aware with a strong knowledge of the market
• Ability to act as a resource, trainer, and communicator of information to manage and elevate visual consistency
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel internationally
