Job Summary
Based in Los Angeles, the Vice President of Global Brand Marketing will contribute to TOMS’ success by serving as a key brand custodian reporting to the Chief Executive Officer while collaborating with cross-functional business leaders. The VP of Global Brand Marketing will be a member of the senior leadership team representing the global marketing organization at the Executive and Board level.
The VP will be the key marketing leader in the development and execution of the TOMS brand message evolution, creative development and communications strategy driving consistency across the brand in all regions and channels globally. As the TOMS Global Marketing Leader, the VP will be an advocate in ensuring that TOMS unique mission and vision, as a purposeful company, is fully leveraged in marketing execution resulting in brand heat.
The Global VP of Brand Marketing is also responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, training, and managing marketing functions to achieve company objectives for sales growth, profitability and visibility while ensuring a position consistent with TOMS’ corporate values.
Essential Responsibilities
Brand Strategy:
Directly responsible for theplanning of global strategic marketing and creative organization, inclusive of short-term and long-term marketing goals in support of the long range vision of TOMS.
Integrated Marketing and Communications:Lead marketing execution for product and giving programs to ensure consistency across all customer experience touchpoints, including product, digital, social, in-store, online, print and direct mail.
Marketing Operations:Operate effective multiple parallel Go-To-Market processes ensuring key marketing deadlines are achieved to enable timely and effective Global and Regional Brand Conferences each season.
Agency Management:Manage relationships with external agencies to develop strong partnerships while maximizing efficient use of resources.
Innovation:Anticipate and implement necessary changes to the TOMS strategy and execution process to support the company’s expansion both geographically and through new marketing initiatives and campaigns.
Consumer Research:Utilize consumer insights to support category development, marketing, R&D, operations, and channel development to increase TOMS’ customer base and brand relevance.
KPI’s & Analytics: Evaluate and track key metrics and success criteria that drive strategic intent for all marketing, advertising, and video content across all activations.
Budget Management:Manage an operating budget for the marketing function in line with the LRP of TOMS. Leverage all available resources to control and maximize value.
Leadership:Develop and mentor the next generation of exceptional talent for TOMS’ growing marketing organization; provide global leadership, insight and guidance to the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.
Requirements and Qualifications
The Global VP of Brand Marketing will be a collaborative leader who understands the interconnectivity of strategy, brand building, and marketing innovation. He or she will be an execution oriented leader and a “disruptive” thinker, who challenges others to think differently and innovate in service to the brand and the business while being a true “cultural fit” for the TOMS team.
This individual will bring:
• Over 15 years of experience successfully building and executing an integrated marketing and communication strategy within a start-up, early and high growth business with financial metric responsibility.
• Experience in building global brands that have both commercial and purposeful dimensions and demonstrable experience in building marketing campaigns that leverage purpose.
• Strong experience and proven track record of innovating and executing new media marketing tactics in social, digital, CRM and direct response that aligns with TOMS strategies and brand positioning.
• Strong experience and expertise in managing a large network of large and micro scale influencers as well as celebrities to drive brand exposure and brand storytelling.
• Strong partnerships and credibility with the internal team and cross-functional teams; proven track record of being collaborative, consultative and servant leadership approach.
• Superior analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to translate into an executable strategic plan.

• A high level of learning agility with the ability to translate conceptual strategies into easily understood execution plans and change management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. A brand ambassador who keeps TOMS’ unique story, mission and purpose at the forefront of the brand message

• Experience working in footwear/fashion/apparel/retail industries is strongly preferred
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree: in Marketing or Communications or equivalent work experience.
• Work Schedule & Travel Requirement: Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary Approximate travel likely not to exceed 25% of work time.
• Physical Demands: Bend, lift, open and move product and related items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need.
