Role Summary
The Women’s Ready-to-Wear GMM role at Saks Fifth Avenue is an exciting opportunity accountable for driving profitable growth. We’re looking for a dynamic, visionary leader who will build a best-in-class organization and harness the power of the brick and mortar stores and .com presence of the Saks Fifth Avenue Business. This individual will have a proven track record in building a strategy, communicating a compelling vision, and executing a well thought-out plan, while leading and engaging a high performing team.
He/she must be creative with a strategic mindset along with the ability to turn concepts into action. He/she must have strong relationship building and influencing skills and ability to navigate a complex, global organization. The successful candidate will be a change agent who is flexible, resilient, nimble and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. He/she will embody a culture of taking smart risks and innovating to win.
Major Responsibilities
1. Set merchandising vision and strategy for division to meet financial targets, including revenue, margin and inventory metrics
2. Establish and consistently communicate merchandising objectives in support of HBC strategy and business objectives
3. Partner with Chief Merchant to ensure strategic direction for division is in line with company
4. Develop innovative new business and sales driving ideas
5. Partner with Merch Planning to profitably execute financial targets as well as review and direct financial plans
6. Lead Merch team in executing in-season strategies and adjusts plans as business requires
7. Actively monitor and adjust to market, trends and competition
8. Lead key brand meeting sand drive strategic conversations related to the business objectives
9. Define organizational structure and actively retain/recruit talent
10. Develop direct report sand team members
11. Represent division on cross-functional and cross-company initiatives
12. Present divisional results and strategies at executive sessions
Professional Qualifications
• BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred
• Must have 15+ years of overall Buying/Merchandising experience, with extensive experience in a management role
• Must have 6-8 years of experience as multi-category manager, overseeing both the creative and financial aspects of merchandising
• Experience as a Merchandising Manager in multiple product lines is essential
• Demonstrated leadership skills required
