ABOUT THE PEOPLE AND CULTURE TEAM
We believe the most important responsibility of a manager at Stitch Fix is to build a great team. Our Recruiting team (organized into Technical, Corporate/G&A, High-Volume (Styling, Client Experience and Warehouse), and Recruiting Operations) provides expertise, strategy, coaching, and support for every manager to achieve that vision. Hiring is a team sport at Stitch Fix - we are a company with a strong, hands-on culture of recruiting where our managers are highly engaged in the process from start to finish!
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Director of Global Recruiting, you will be the business leader who ensures that Stitch Fix has the world-class talent to continue redefining the retail industry and reach new heights of client happiness and organizational success. Spanning a uniquely wide variety of roles and functions and geographies, recruiting at Stitch Fix will let you have impact and innovate in ways you never thought possible in your career. This is an incredible opportunity to drive and innovate the recruiting function at one of the most exciting consumer retail and technology companies out there. This position will be based in San Francisco at our global HQ and report directly to Stitch Fix’s VP of Talent.
YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL:
• Build and lead a nimble, world-class recruiting team, bringing the best out of every team member and creating a culture of high-performance, people development, innovation, and collaboration
• Partner with business and People & Culture leaders to continually assess the state of Stitch Fix’s talent across teams and functions and adjust our hiring strategies and processes to reflect those insights
• Build a data-driven recruiting organization and process, including analytics, dashboards, and ATS, and a culture of continuous improvement using data insights to shape our operational roadmap and priorities
• Lead our hiring and recruiting teams to shape and deliver a consistently world-class candidate experience, drawing from industry best practices and the best of consumer marketing and product
• Create training programs and ways of working with hiring managers and interviewers that continually improve their capabilities and ‘teach them how to fish’ (the foundation of our recruiting philosophy)
• Regularly assess and report back on Stitch Fix’s position within the competitive landscape for talent, leveraging both external and internal benchmarks and create initiatives to move us ‘up and to the right’
• Partner with other People & Culture leaders to execute on our Diversity & Inclusion priorities and drive recruiting-related initiatives that make Stitch Fix a better and better place for everybody to work
• Create and drive an employer brand strategy that makes Stitch Fix the place to start or pursue a career in consumer retail and data-driven consumer technology
• Strengthen our internal executive recruiting capabilities, working directly with our senior leaders on their most critical, difficult-to-fill roles and creating long-term strategies to build a warm proactive pipeline
• Leverage technology throughout our entire hiring progress to continually improve the productivity of our hiring managers and recruiting team
WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE:
• You have 15+ years in recruiting for roles ranging from entry-level to executive in high-growth environments, with significant recruiting leadership experience and 3+ years of managing managers
• Ideally you have previous global recruiting experience with bonus points for an EU focus
• You are able to fly at 30,000 feet in shaping global strategies and thinking about Stitch Fix’s recruiting priorities 3-5 years ahead, and dive down to ‘sea level’ in coaching the team to execute in daily work
• You are a consummate coach who gets personal fulfillment by succeeding through others
• You are motivated by challenge, with a positive tone, an eye for solutions and an energy for springing into action. You roll up your sleeves and do whatever needs to be done
• Your deep sense of personal responsibility, combined with your strong attention to detail and organization, means you never drop any of the many things you are juggling
• You are always questioning the status quo, as you look for opportunities to innovate and break convention where you think better results can be achieved
• When you seek to understand and solve a problem, you instinctively ask for the data. You are fluent with recruiting analytics and how to build and improve systems and processes around them
• You are a hunter at heart, and know how to create programs and strategies that ensure Stitch Fix gets to know and attracts the best talent out there before they are even actively searching
• Your tremendous emotional intelligence and great judgment make you a trusted partner of Stitch Fix’s business leaders, an inspirational leader to your team, and a trusted coach to senior candidates
• You thrive leading others through ambiguity and constant change, balancing the need to be nimble and responsive in the short-term with driving progress on longer-term foundational initiatives
• You are an exceptional communicator in both written and verbal interactions; clear, concise, and courageous in giving tough but supportive feedback when needed to leaders at all levels
• Above all else, you are bright, kind and goal-oriented
