Timberland - Merchandising Planner
Position Summary:
As a merchandise planner, you will join Timberland’s Global Product Analysis team, helping provide analytical support to inform the strategic direction across Timberland's global product categories. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, demonstrates advanced MS Excel skills, and has a proven ability to consolidate large data sets into actionable intelligence. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting analyses, gathering insights, and presenting the findings to key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with category leadership to ensure all reporting, analysis, and insights are effectively enabling optimized decision making throught the go-to-market process. 30% of time involved and relative importance 5-Very High
• Create profitability analyses within gender and product category; review business and line performance to drive decision making and profitability. 25% of time involved and relative importance 4-High
• Generate sell-in analyses for footwear to drive decision making around seasonal investments (additions to the line matrix, CER – tooling investments). Present to regions, product teams and management on line efficacy and new tools to guide business decisions. 20% of time involved and relative importance 4-High
• Prepare life cycle management analysis and reporting to support teams’ management of product lifecycles, support teams' decision making through insight in statistical trends and ROI metrics. 15% of time involved and relative importance 4-High
• Support manager with special projects and ad-hoc analysis of product data (e.g. line complexity) as required. Partner on key projects that will inform business decisions and drive efficiencies across the product categories. 10% of time involved and relative importance 3-Medium
Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in a highly analytical role
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Interpersonal and team building skills to build relationships with merchants and foster a teamwork approach.
• Ability to make decisions with limited information.
• Creative problem solving skills.
• High degree of intelligence, integrity and honesty.
• Strong desire to make significant contributions to a dynamic growth company and the work ethnic to make those contributions.
