Timberland - Merchandise Planning Manager
Position Summary:
As part of Timberland’s North America Merchandising team, this position will support the Sr. Manager, Merchandise Planning and Operations and the Act Vertical initiative through regional merchandise assortment planning and analytics across FW/APP/ACC assortments to meet financial and assortment targets and metrics, and deliver on strategic intent.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain a suite of merchandise assortment tools to support regional, seasonal assortment analytics in line with Product line architecture by channel, gender and category, and associated revenue and productivity targets. 30% of time involved and relative importance 4-High
• Conducts regional hind sighting and assortment planning analytics to support regional merch financial plans, identify opportunities for growth, reconcile against financial targets and to inform merchant assortment decisions. 20% of time involved and relative importance 4-High
• Develop interface process with key cross functional partners (Merchants, WS Planning, DTC Buying, Global Product Ops, Demand Planning) to manage GTM line plan requirements, inclusive of but not limited to; Seasonal MFP & CAP, channel/regional input consolidation, milestone support data 20% of time involved and relative importance 3-Medium
• Leverage data analytics to advise merchant team on key and core product and franchise lifecycle trends; category, segment, gender, family, price level, to deliver KPI’s. 20% of time involved and relative importance 4-High
• Contribute to maintaining Excel based Merchandising Planning tools and PLM systems as required 10% of time involved and relative importance 3-Medium
Job Requirements:
• 5+ years
• Undergraduate Degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in product line buying, merchandise planning, or finance analytics preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively collect, organize and analyze data and apply to practical business use.
• Ability to work with others as part of cross-functional team to understand the business needs, and leverage / develop supporting analytics
• High proficiency with Excel
• Flexibility and adaptability in dealing with multiple, and varied data sources
• Focus and attention to detail
• Ability to learn multiple systems
• Enjoys working as part of a dynamic and fast paced team
