Executive Summary:
The Market Planning Leader position is the owner of all supply chain planning for the business unit. This includes leading the demand, supply, and sales and operations planning activities associated with multiple shared distribution centers globally. The Leader is accountable for working with and developing Market Planners and for creating processes that will improve productivity. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners. This position requires a high level of multi-functional collaboration, detailed orientation, and agility to deliver the dynamic supply chain planning needs of the Travel Retail Americas market.
Basic Functions:
• Lead Monthly Sales and Operations Planning, aligning a consensus forecast and maintaining a risk and opportunity profile.
• Review & maintain demand forecasts (operational forecasts) for multiple time horizons.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, collect forecast data, maintain statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Reconcile significant variances and root cause analyze problems to discuss action plans with management.
• Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach in working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that accurate information is used for alignment meetings & reviews.
• Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting tool (JDA).
• Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with remote distribution requirement planning teams for optimal fill rates.
• Minimize excess inventory by working multi-functional on supply action plans.
• Work with Initiative and Marketing groups to determine timelines for the collection of promotional and new brand (or new SKU) forecasts. Deliver launch volumes at targeted service level.
• Using SAP, Business Intelligence software, and JDA planning software, input data and generate reports and analysis for the business as needed.
• Own the key performance indicators - fill rate and forecast accuracy. This includes using continuous process improvement skills to step change all gaps to target.
• Prepare strategic and ad hoc analysis as needed or requested by management.
• Provide leadership to a team of up to 3 direct reports.
Required Education / Experience / Specific Job-related Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain planning with focused experience in demand planning for 3+ years
• Experience in Leading/Mentoring direct reports
• Strong software skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• SAP experience
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with peers and management
• Ability to work in team environment and independently
• Must have long-term authorization to work in the U.S.
• Experience in Travel Retail and Luxury Beauty industry preferred
• Spanish speaking proficiency preferred
