Primary Purpose:
kate spade new york is looking for an entry-level marketing professional to assist the email marketing team in day-to-day management of the email program including brief development, execution & deployment of emails with our agency, and reporting. The email marketing assistant will work directly with the Senior Manager of Email & Retention Marketing to implement the overall strategy to drive sales and increase engagement with katespade.com and kate spade surprise sale sites. This role works collaboratively across internal teams (CRM, brand marketing, paid marketing, retail marketing, site, creative, and buying) and external teams (marketing agencies, vendors, partners) to execute. The ideal candidate is passionate about the kate spade brand, eager to learn about ecommerce and email marketing, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in the eCommerce department to...
• Execute email campaigns end-to-end including trafficking assets, requesting & providing segment information, partnering with the legal team on terms and conditions sign-off, QA & approval, and monitoring email deliverability
• Assist with the creation of email briefs and asset maps. This involves working across various departments in the company including creative, buying, planning, e-commerce, and CRM
• Track key email metrics such as delivered, open rate, CTO (click to open), revenue, conversion rate, RPE (revenue per email), and opt-out rate by various email types and/or segments, establishing benchmarks for each within google analytics and salesforce
• Create & communicate reports (weekly, seasonal, ad hoc, etc.) that analyze findings, identify trends and recommend a course of action
• Become an expert in the ESP (Salesforce) interface including email coding & set-up, list management, subscriber look-up, reporting, etc.
• Proactively resolve problems and roadblocks in order to keep work flow on schedule and escalate higher level conflicts to manager for resolution
• Desire to learn the email competitive arena. Create competitive reviews of the digital and online marketplace as well as follow industry news
Qualifications
The accomplished individual will possess...
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Internships or 1 year of marketing experience required
• Strong analytical and project management skills
• Detail oriented with focus on delivering results
• Self-starter, takes initiative, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Ability to partner with multiple cross-functional teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in MSOffice such as Outlook and PowerPoint
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMif statements, etc.)
An outstanding professional will have...
• Basic understanding of email marketing KPIs and best practices
• Experience with a large scale ESP (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Responsys, etc.)
• Experience with Google Analytics
• Direct to consumer e-commerce experience
• Experience in HTML/CSS/AMPScript and the ability to make small edits to text is a plus
• Dreamweaver or Photoshop experience is a plus
