Job Description

Live...Dream... Work the Adventure! Cabela’s has an opening for a Logistics Coordinator at our office in Sidney, NE.
General Purpose:
Provide Cabela's vendors, carriers, and internal customers with insight and resolution to shipping, visibility, and costing questions or issues. Ensure questionable product movement is completed to meet the internal customer’s expectation in the most cost efficient manner. Maintains data entry function of expenses, reporting, and validation of accuracy and results. Provide additional support to the Logistics Management Team by completing additional tasks and processes as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide our customers, vendors, carriers and internal customer’s resolution to shipping issues. The end result is to satisfy the needs of the internal and external customer by providing the expected service in the most cost efficient manner. This is done by resolving delivery problems, authorize shipment booking and pick up, tracking shipments via TMS (Transportation Management System), expediting shipments and setting up returns for refused shipments.
• Utilize TMS software to ensure the contracted freight cost is the amount that Cabela's will pay. Utilize software to properly classify Cabela’s products. Collect carrier data to be used for score carding and service level reporting.
• Collect and analyze freight cost/rate data for project based activities to assist management in making informed decisions based upon individual carrier negotiated cost. Utilize the same software and rate charts used in the audit process to compile into Excel spreadsheets for management review.
• Support internal customers, logistics providers and vendors with visibility and costing as needed to facilitate transportation processes or moves. This ensures a consistent flow of shipments in the most cost efficient manner. Utilize various means of communication (telephone, email, fax, carrier site visits and meetings) to keep the expected service level to meet Cabela's needs.
• Assist Vendors in correct routing of freight and proper procedures for filling out Bills of Lading. Act as a liaison between carriers and Cabela’s distribution centers and retail stores. Help to resolve any issues with delivery or receipt of goods.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 2-4+ years of experience
