The Store Manager is a senior-level store management position which reports directly to the District Manager within store operations. The Store Manager assumes a blended leadership role of both operations and merchandising while leading the entire store-level team to accomplish strategic objectives and overall sales goals.
In this role, the successful Store Manager will be an effective communicator with a motivational and persuasive personality, have a thorough understanding of retail sales techniques and thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Having previous experience as a Store Manager in specialty retail or as an Assistant Manager for a large retailer will allow an easy transition into understanding all aspects of the business to ensure that focus remains on key business initiatives, store presentation, marketing execution and daily operational cost controls. Developmental success in this role will lead into an elevated role within store operations or within our home office.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate, Promote, and Supervise all aspects of customer service
• Lead by example while driving overall store performance
• Motivate team to strive to attain daily, weekly and monthly sales and operational goals
• Recruit, train and supervise sales and support staff
• Create a plan of succession for current staff members
• Ensure Operating Procedures are effectively implemented at all levels
• Achieve sales and labor goals via effective labor management
• Oversee general merchandising and store operations
• Partner with visual team in regards to merchandise presentation
• Successfully convey corporate communication down the management team as well as to line-level staff
Skills and Requirements:
A varied schedule will include day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Prefer 3+ years of retail management experience; 1 year as a Store Manager preferred
• Prefer college degree
• Active participation in the sports EMS represents, highly preferred
• Ability to foster a customer-focused environment
• Ability to suggestively sell and be persuasive; coach others to maximize overall sales
• Strong business acumen and sales ability
• Ability to enable management and develop staff; team player
• Strong communication, inter-personal and people skills
• Basic understanding of P&L components
• Merchandising skills in both hardlines and softlines a plus
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Organized, resourceful and driven to satisfy customers
