SUMMARY
Perry Ellis International is currently seeking an Assistant Merchandiser that will be based at our office located in New York, NY. The Assistant Merchandiser will be responsible for assisting the Merchandiser and Designer with development and execution of all Fashion Swim product lines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with development and communication of seasonal initiatives for swim lines.
• Assist with analysis of product, consumer and competitive trends in order to assist Merchandiser with creation of on-trend, brand & market-right product lines.
• Assist Merchandiser with all cross functional integration; engaging with sales, planning, sourcing, design, and development teams to deliver a product line that is designed, developed and manufactured to meet product requirements, market needs, margin goals, and calendar timelines.
• Assist Merchandiser in briefing the design and development teams through formal seasonal presentations and ongoing informal interaction from conceptualization to final adoption ensuring to develop product with consistent brand image, meet key dates, and achieve net sales and net margin targets.
• Assist Merchandiser with market research to provide data and analysis to support key decision making for productivity and profitability to include comparison grids by brand, dissecting features & benefits, price points etc.
• Assist Merchandiser with all sample development including fabric status updates.
• Assist Design with overseas office communication by transferring digital artwork; issue comments for lab dips, strike-off’s, trims and hardware.
• Assist Design with BOM updates to overseas office including add/drop styles.
• Assist Design by coordinating meetings and silhouette hand off to tech design.
• Assist Sales with completing e-commerce spreadsheets.
• Assist Sales with retag of styles for closeout.
REQUIREMENTS
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Strong information seeking skills, analytical skills, and drive to make things happen
• Effective presentation skills and interpersonal coordination skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability/knowledge in how to use product systems to collect data to be used in analysis
• Ability to accept and meet deadlines with impeccable planning and organization skills
• Proficient in Excel and knowledge of Illustrator
