Leads product category / lifestyle segment business unit (BU) in the creation of a comprehensive merchandise strategy to deliver against consumer/retailer needs. Drives ongoing product line management and is responsible for BU financial performance on designated key performance indicators (KPIs). Insures successful BU execution of seasonal product line launches via calendar development and process/timeline adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assists the Merchandise Manager/Director in the creation of merchandising briefs and product line strategy for their specific lifestyle / category segment.
• Assists the MM/Director and design partners with setting development priorities by providing white space analysis generated through market intelligence, surveillance, and share reporting.
• In partnership with the MM/Director establishes near term and long term BU financial plans.
• Assists the MM/Director with development and assessment of wholesale and retail pricing strategies to drive value and profitability.
• Provides cost targets to design organization for requested seasonal development.
• Responsible for ongoing BU product line management, including setting style/sku level productivity targets, product portfolio management, and innovation pipeline maintenance.
• Develops BU seasonal product development calendars and drives accountability for timeline adherence.
• Primary liaison between supply chain / sourcing / manufacturing with regards to product line execution.
• Attends key customer product line strategy and seasonal line release meetings and presents product line in role of segment/category expert.
• In partnership with marketing & MM/Director establishes go to market (GTM) strategies and communication plan for new product launches.
• Attends key customer demand reviews (contract & productivity) and is responsible for reporting demand changes inside the BU.
Key points of interaction:
• Merchandise Manager / Director & other lifestyle segment & category leads
• GIC: merchandiser will own category/segment innovation portfolio
• Project management: will be responsible for stage gate meeting & timeline adherence
• Marketing: engage on communication strategies to ensure alignment on GTM strategies and key elements of communication for new product launches within their category/lifestyle segment
• Sales: assist in the development of sales materials and presentations for key customers
• Sales operations/planning/forecasting: responsible for demand forecast management/communication
• Works on development plans for Merchandising Specialist and provides oversight for their daily activities
Additional Capabilities:
• Experience in retail sales analysis, business planning, costing, and pricing analytics
• Strong follow up and execution skill set

• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Self-starter with ability to set priorities / strong work ethic / high initiative
Job Requirements:
• 4 Year degree, 3-5 years work experience in related field
• Ability to work within tight timelines and additional hours around key calendar deadlines
• Ability to travel overnight frequently
