General Summary:
Senior Online Merchandiser is an experienced individual contributor responsible for optimizing product presentation & taxonomy on dsw.com to drive sales, conversion, and traffic. The Senior Online Merchandiser will partner with cross functional business teams to accurately align & convey seasonal buying and marketing strategies on the site for assigned categories.
Responsibilities:
• Create & Execute online merchandising strategies to maximize conversion and sales for specific categories on dsw.com
• Manage online merchandising strategies and/or execution & adjust as necessary based upon analytics, selling trends, competitive patterning, and inventory availability, etc
• Maintain site navigation & sequence categories to support marketing/buying strategies, trends, web analytics, and on-site search, etc
• Analyze business performance, & participate in business review/cross functional meetings for assigned categories
• Monitor onsite search results and partner with the Onsite Search Analyst to optimize search pages
• Complete keyword research and partner with Product Copywriters to ensure relevant keywords are included in the product copy
• Partner with Customer Experience Team and take business lead as it relates to defect resolution & enhancements associated with Experience Manager & ATG
• Collaborate with Digital Content team on projects for additional images and other supporting content
• Review and analyze online competitors’ site merchandising, promotional execution and tactics, user experience, product representation and taxonomy
• Determine necessary site changes to optimize conversion, sales, and the overall customer experience, etc by presenting relevant information & analysis of online metrics
• Strong business acumen in web metrics to provide insight & make recommendations to buying & planning partners about assortment and collections
• Provide complex data in a digestible way for cross-functional partners
• Lead by example – work with manager to onboard, coach, and develop the Online Merchandising Team
• Assist in establishing & communicating online merchandising best practices***
• Support company iniatitives by offering to take the lead on special projects related to digital and merchandising
• Act as divisional subject matter expert in manager’s absence***
• Perform other duties as necessary
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3-5 years of experience within a retail environment or 2-4 years of eCommerce merchandising/digital experience***
• Proficient in the utilization of site analysis tools, such as Omniture Site Catalyst & Google Analytics
• Ability to communicate complex processes and projects to a broad audience consisting of both business and technical partners
• Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in addition to normal job responsibilities***
• Strong business acumen, clear understanding of KPI’s, and how to impact them
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively in order to solve problems
• Excellent planning and follow-up skills, including the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
• Proven ability to collaborate and establish strong working relationships with cross-functional partners
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
