The Vice President Marketing, Brand & Customer Strategy is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the customer experience with a focus on the financial and performance elements of the brand experience.
Overseeing commercial planning, media, marketing investment, CRM and customer strategy, he/she will drive all marketing levers in close partnership with finance, merchandising and inventory planning. He/she will drive the annual, seasonal and LRP brand planning (in partnership with the CMO) with a strong focus on customer acquisition and retention. This role leads the brand marketing budget investment strategy and allocation and is responsible for driving brand impactand efficiency in key marketing vehicles.
This leader should have extensive consumer marketing experience, preferably in retail, with a strong background in CRM, financial marketing analytics, ecommerce and media. This role reports to the CMO and functions as the CMO’s right hand while leading a team of four direct reports and four dotted line reports.
Areas of Responsibility:
·Lead and drive the commercial plan strategy and execution. Responsible for pre-season brand strategy and commercial plan integration with merchandising, finance, inventory and ecommerce partners. Required to leverage cross-functional partners to gain insights and efficacy of historical marketing programs and promotions to devise seasonal strategies that drive traffic, ROAS, brand health and profitable growth.
·In partnership with CMO, develop and manage marketing investment strategy globally across channels to optimize performance against key marketing objectives. Leverage Gap Inc portfolio of brands insights to inform future strategy.
·Lead global media strategy in partnership with media agencies, CMO and direct reports. Responsible for devising sound media investment strategy with a focus on customer growth, traffic and elevating brand perception. Manage matrixed team responsible for performance marketing driving investment strategy, hindsighting, analytics and testing to position Banana Republic as a premium apparel brand.
·Lead CRM approach to customer segmentation to drive file growth, email effectiveness and long term consumer loyalty.
·Drive brand customer strategy in partnership with Gap Inc customer marketing team. Responsible for strategy and execution of key initiatives focused on new and retained customers as well as cross-brand customer initiatives. Partner with key leaders in the organization to drive test and learn approach to inform future investment strategies.
·Lead international digital team with a focus on CRM and customer acquisition in key markets.
Experience:
·Seasoned consumer marketer with retail / ecommerce experience is a requirement.
·Proven experience managing large scale marketing budgets with effective returns and traffic growth
·Extensive experience driving media strategy with a full funnel approach to building brand equity and high performance results.
·Deep experience leading matrixed teams with examples of direct report career growth and pathing.
·Proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns in a digital environment.
·12-15 years in marketing required.
·A fast-paced, multi-tasker who thrives in a cross-functional, matrixed, collaborative organization.
·A team player comfortable with ambiguity. A driver of creativity and innovation who can collaborate to identify and develop the most differentiated ideas through execution
